Clutch Install

I have the transmission completely unbolted, everything i could find is let go, but the transmission will not come off the engine. Any tips to get it off? I gave up 4am!

assuming the trans mount, axle, clutch line etc are unbolted just nudge or bang witha rubber mallet, the trans.it'll jostle out.but you have to angle it b/c of the frame of the car

yeah you have to use some force to get it loose from the block. also raise the engine because the trans will not come off the passenger side transaxle due to the frame being in the way, dont lower it, this just makes the trans more parallel with the frame. raise it.

i have changed the clutch plate, put back the transmission,
its taken me too much time, still need to fill in new gear oil ,
which I do not know --- how to , there is no fill plug in my protege 94

four yrs ago I paid $100 for the job, I feel I should have done the same.

I replaced my clutch in my '99 protege es this passed weekend. it was a little too much work for me. but not really. there were a few broken bolts that kind of became pegs... I know. and there was a small issue my dad had with torquing the wheel on and judging at what point the drivers axle was all the way in. found that out after driving a few miles, and the wheel was flinging itself around and gear oil was spewing out from where the axle was supposed to be snapped into. but whats another few minutes of work? I didnt feel like pulling out the speedo gear to fill it up, so I just dumped the oil into the level check hole. I just kind of eyeballed how much fluid I put in. I'm obviously not the much practical mechanic. oh well.

on another note, its still running like crap. I guess the clutch wasnt the problem, not that I thought it was. it just needed replacing. its kind of stumbling on acceleration. any imput? I still got to do a thread search.
