Yes, three pounds would have an effect. Keep in mind, just putting the 9lb on wouldnt void the warranty, they'd have to prove it caused it. There is exactly one person on this site with the mazdaspeed, unfortunately my mind doesnt work.
And as far as

, clutchmasters is quality s***, I think both clutches here would be a good deal. Rishie and others use the stage 1, and it holds up well. Just go with personal preference, and if you have a material preference (what it's made of)

thats right Mazdaspeed does have the 9lbs flywheel i forgot about that. i would get that and the ACT clutch. have the dealer install it. (MAINLY cause i dont have the tools or shop area to install it, or the time. full time work, part time school, and full time husband/father takes up your time.) ive talked to alot of RX7 guys in the area and they tell me they would go through the clutchmasters like they are candy. they all run ACT and have never had a problem... oh and one more thing

Actually, I think the MS is 15lb flyhweel, but the fidanza is 9 or so. Anyway, I ordered the fidanza fw and the ACT clutch. Should be here in TWO (damn) weeks. :-(

No, my mechanic will be doing it since he has to put the engine back together he will do the install for free
Although I am still paying for it in the long run

I paid $290 on sale on the RR-Racing website. The clutch is definitely stronger, and the flywheel helps you to rev faster. Your car is a little easier to die if you don't engage the clutch and give it more gas properly. Now I am waitng on my Turbo Kit.

i have a 00protege ES with the 1.8 would the rr-racing flywheel work for me or only the 2.0, also does anyone have the sr motorsports flywheel and ACT clutch package. they are the only one i know who offers a specific flywheel for the 1.8

Stat away from CM. They have gone out of bussiness. So all the shops are buying there overhead and selling them cheap. The last year of production they have slacked on there quality. My shop that I deal with had close ties with CM. They told me to go for the ACT. Much better clutch. I personally have the 6 puck. I LOVE IT!!!
