Clunk Updates

ok..yea i knew of that one but wasnt sure if there was one that only mazda ppl could goto or not..but i guess theMAN has access to that and lets us all know so we dont get screwed over..thanx and i guess ill just take mine up to them cause i printed them out for them to see it..lets see whut they say cause they want to charge me 40 bucks for them to inspect it and lube it..**** that i say. but thanx

yeah..jackasses..got the service manager up to the counter and told him..look here i have a tsb here so im not gonna pay for it..he said oh ill waive the charges..like yea we know we just wanted to see if u would pay or not..hell no im not gonna pay. i knew they would try and screw me over cause i have known too many women that go up there and get screwed over so i guess they think anyone is fair game. but no clunk yet but of course its wet outside so not sure bout the weather if its making it not clunk but ill let ya guys know in a few days.

dan. I would take that as a sign, and start going to another dealer.

As for this statment
"The only clunk i ever heard was the day the new bushings were installed, but im guessing that was the new bushings seating in. "

New bushings do NOT need to "seat in". I'd say they put them on wrong.

....and heat has nothing to do with the clunk. Wet weather does.

well i only goto them cause i havent had any probs w/them except one other time..i got my front brakes changed and they said i had 50% left on the rears..so i was like kewl..well 1 week later i took it in cause i told them the rear was making some scraping noise and come to find out..i was on metal to metal..so either they just decided not to give me any brakes back on the rear or somehow something happened and they took them off and hoped i would come back so they could put on new back ones and charge me again..i bitched at them and they said sorry..its gonna come out of someones paycheck up here and put on a new rear set for free. but yeah..they are w/in walking distance from my apt..maybe 1/4 at the most so thats the main reason i goto them. i went to another dealer and they had never heard of an mp3 so i was kinda confused cause they were an authorized dealer but oh well..i might take it elsewhere next time but the service manager told me to talk to him next time so.. we will see how things work out..all they did is lube the bushings and that was it so we will find out..and next time ill have them check my struts also..see if that may need to be replaced to. i just hate that they do work b4 you tell them to, if i was the person at the dealer i would say..check this out and then call the person if something needs to be done and the dealer is gonna charge you..they just go ahead and supposedly fix the problem and call you and say its done w/out you ever saying yes do this or that. but oh well, got it fixed for free so i cant b**** much.

Clunk came back today Had the "E's" Installed about 3 or 4 months ago, and its back as worse as it ever was.

haven't checked this thread in a while. My E's have a few months on them, no clunk yet, but definitly wierd noises comming from the rear.

we needs some energy bushings.....can we get a nice long letter written for them?....OR AM I JUST LOST AND THIS HAS BEEN SPOKEN BOUT B4??/

Check your bushings, my 'E' types are already done for, and that was before I started autocrossing.

About 3 months and now they're gone to s***.

Yay! I had my Es replaced a couple of weeks ago due to clunking. The replacements don't sound much better (still clunks). So I told them this when my dealer made a courtesy call, and they had me come in this morning and have a tech ride along with me.

The last time this happened, the tech heard the problem and tried convincing me it was normal. And I was like WTF are you talking about?! This time, a different tech came with me, and I could only reproduce it a bit, but he was like "believe me, I know how long this problem has been going on. Regular Proteges, MP3s, MSPs, 626s, I'll just order a new swaybar, endlinks and bushings, and put it on there before your warranty runs out, and hopefully it'll last longer". I'm very happy, especially since most people without a peep from the rear had their swaybars replaced as well.

congrats, but this is what they were supposed to do to begin with :(

Mine are still going strong so far. Knock on wood of course. They started the squeaking noise last week. Some WD-40 on the bushings before I went to bed, and it's been fine ever since. 2 min job. I expected the lube they put on to wear out at some time, so the wd 40 was just a quick fix. Surprised it's lasted over a week though. Unless it comes back, I'm leaving it alone.

No clunk yet though, since Nov, 2003. I love my Mazdaspeed.

The squeaks in mine just started happening. Funny, I just went to get the fronts replaced for the crunch and a day after the rears start squeaking.

try the wd-40. Get under there, spray the crap out of the bushings, top/sides/bottom. Let it sit for a long time. I did spray mine twice. The bushings are so tight I am amazed that any got in between the bar and bushings, but it must have, because it worked. By rights, they should be taken off, lubed properly and put back on. But mine have been so good....if it ain't broke, I ain't f'n wit it. Their staying there until I have no other choice.

I got rid if my clunck (new swaybar, endlinks etc) but I get a horible grinding/dragging noice if I have people in the back seat and I go over bumps at highspeed.

My dealer says its becuase I have gravel in the struts and I should just go to the car wash and blow them out with the presser washer.

Thoughts?

I would but since i'm in Canada I don't think Mazda USA would do much.

Seriously thought, does anybody know what the noise in my back end is? I have a brand new swaybar, endlinks, and bushings (E's). The noise is only there if I have people in the back seat and I go over big bumps or take a turn a high speed.

If I take a turn then it sounds like the car is dragging. Its not but you would swear up and down that it is.

Any ideas? I'm desperate to get rid of the grinding/dragging noise.
