Clunk Updates

Well, i just had the sway bar replaced along with new bushings and endlinks. I'm going for an alignment next week cause they have to change a front ball joint. Then we'll really see how the car does

LOL. Good one Newf.

All I know is I don't know WTF the deal is with my car. I'm officially retracting my previous statements that my 1st set of E's were clunking because after getting my E's replaced with new ones it is still making the same "clunk-esque" noises - arguably a little worse than before. The only thing I can think of is that I put my summer tires back on at the same time as getting the new E's and because of that I'm getting more tire noise over bumps than I remember last summer. I don't know. I'm just going to sit back and see how things progress in the summer. It does appear that the new front bushing fixed my crunch though.

<!--[endif]-->My front suspension is making a horrible clunking/cracking noise when I hit a bump or launch hard. Im hoping to take it in soon, my warranty is close to the end.

Seems to be comming from the passengers side.

not sure how many kms on the car now...6k 7k? But it's been since Nov 2003. Still going strong, and I am on my original sway bar.

I must say, I'm not quite sure if my earlier statements about the clunk coming back are entirely true yet. I have the Es and definitely noticed a different clunk/pop when it was raining one day a month ago, but it hasn't done it since even with rain. When it got warm for a few days (60s) it was silent! Maybe the E's are a decent solution. Who knows.

They were the e's right? Just checking as some dealers still have the d's still in stock and are giving them to people....jerks

i dont know how bad the weather is there but weather this winter was consistantly below 20 and below zero at times....

when it warms up i will see if its still there...

Our weather? LOL

try below -40 Celsius. I still have about 10 feet of snow in my front yard.

and our roads are horrible. Worse I've driven on in anywhere in Canada I've been.

Not sure what to say for you. Maybe get micaspeeds bushing/bar upgrade. Should be out soon.

im getting new swaybars and bushings soon anyways so it dosent matter much to me...

the bars will be large! and im damn excited about it...

Well, I'm my clunk is finally back with authority. The Es definitely lasted longer though, and through lots of slush, ice, temperature changes etc. I'll get one last one before the warranty is up and hopefully the micaspeed solution will be done.

Chris

mine are still going strong since November ( knock on wood), and I doubt anyone here on this board has had a longer winter then me. Other speed in town has twice the kms as me on the E's, and no issues. He had a new swar bar installed at the same time. I never.

Here's a pic of last night, note the trees. 70kph winds, 5-10 cm of snow. This came outta nowhere.
