Clunk Updates

my front squeak is extremely minor, and hardly ever happens unless it's REALLY cold. I've never heard of another Mazda here in town with the same problem, well, except maybe one.

Ok ok. So I just got back from the dealer. I had to take my car in for the 2nd time and have someone ride along to make sure it's the rear sway bar. Since replacing the bushing the first time didn't seem to work They wanted to make sure again. Well he rode with me, and still say's it the sway bar. So they get online or call the mazda Bulletin or something and surprise surprise. There's some new procedure involving a new set of bushings, and end links. He said it's a different part than what I have now so maybe this is their fix for it. Don't konw. I have to take my car back next tuesday for them to work on it. Maybe this is their big fix or something. I'll let you guys know what part numbers and stuff they are whenever I finally get them.

There's no perm fix for it yet guys. I'll will probably know long before Mazda sends a new tsb for it, at least in Canada. I'm supposed to get the fix 1st...well, besides the car they have for testing at least.

I'd be interested in seeing that part number though

I too just got new bushings installed today. 156D again with some tape.

Well that depends. If PA_MP3_Man has a possible new attempt at a fix, it doesn't mean you're going to get it newf. Mazda USA and Mazda Canada are completely different. Heck, it took Mazda USA at least a month to acknowledge the bushing problem, and this was after Mazda Canada had officially recognized it.

PA MP3, get us thoose # my car is still in the shop, they just gave me 156D again with tape, I would like to inform them about this b4 i get it back.

hey, I said in Canada at least :)

I tell ya one thing...after I put my RH's back on...damn, this is one sexy ass car. Almost makes me doubt myself for selling it.

I put my Racing Hart back too and my sumer hood with the scoop and now with the airbrush design on the hood!!! :D

I will need to get my front bushing replaced soon. I don't ride the MP3 often since I got my WRX but I took a ride with it today and I noticed a very small loose in the steering, with a very subtil clunk when I turn the steering to the max.... anybody have this on his car?

But this car is like a go-kart! Very fun to drive! (thumb)

I'll let you guys know what the numbers are. Hopefully I'll get to pick my car up Tuesday but it depends on how soon I can ditch work, if I can make it to the dealership in time. Once I find those numbers I'll postem.

Makes me wonder though. Last time they replaced the same thing. End links and Bushings. So they might just be doing the same thing with the same old parts. Dealers will tell you anything you wanna hear from my experience. Atleast it'll be in time for my next autoX on the 27th. And I'm gettin a new set of Kumho Ecsta's put on. I think I found a pretty good deal. A guys gonna mount and balance em for $106 a piece. Thats the best deal I could find around here.

I dunno. They were just going to replace the endlinks the first time but I made them order the bushings as well. I knew better. I don't know if anything is wrong with them again or if they're just doing the same thing.

Nope probally wont know anything till Wednesday but I'm hoping to pick my car up tomorrow fixed as well. But we'll see. As much as I love to drive around my dad's Monte Carlo (sarcasm) I can't stand going a day without driving my MP3.

Well, I've phoned mazda canada 4 times over the past month. They don't know anything about even finding a fix. Well, i have a feeling that mazda is just giving the runaround:rolleyes:  Definately the last mazda i'll ever own.

Well I got my bushing replaced. There was no new part #'s like they said there would be. It was all the same as last time same 156D bushings and endlinks. The used lithium grease or something this time. Yada yada. Oh well. Atleast it's intime for my next autoX run :).

Mine were put on last friday. and their clunking already. I'm not sure if they used teflon tape or not this time. I can't look under the car because I threw out my neck / back and I'm supper f'd up. I had my neck broke a few years ago, and when this happens it hurts and takes forever to heal.

Mazda called me Sunday night at the house. There's no ETA on the "fix".

But, the head guy in charge of getting the "fix" on the go is insisting that the speeds have a different rear suspension setup, and thinks they do not have the same problem. I laughed, proved the point with examples from here and a speed locally that has the problem and said go tell the head mech. guy who thinks he knows it all that he's WRONG....again.

Anyhow, their still working on it....same song, same story, I couldn't get anything concrete from them this time, or even an idea as to what stage they are at.....wasn't impressed. I don't like having a 30 mins discussion where someone just beats around the bush and tries to "make me feel better" without presenting facts and showing progress.

I having a lot of doubts today that my next car will be another Mazda.

Tell your Mazdaspeed buddies with this problem to go to the dealer asap and bug them to death and prove that the speeds have the same exact problem. I've told this to Mazda over and over and over and for some reason they are being hard headed and not listening again.

The guy that called me was very understanding, and listens well, and said he'll pass along the info to the head mech., but, without people with speeds complaining, it looks like I'm just shooting s***.

damn wtf is going on with this mazda company bulls***:(
I am soooo tired of their lack of customer support, I am done, I am going to buy a new car soon I think and NO mazda

I'll be writing a letter to mazda usa giving them two options.
1 using thier final chance to fix it and fixing it for good, or buying the car back. I have a stack of service reciepts from the past few months replacing everything from struts to endlinks and everything in between trying to fix the problem.

I'm guessing I have good grounds.

What ya think?

Oh... and the last guy at mazda usa I talked to said that they follow these boards.....so in that case ****! You ! and **** Mazda!!!!!!!

I've had 3 hondas prior to this s*** box and never any problems!!!

99 prelude type sh = good car
00 acura integra type r =good car
01 s2000 =awesome car
01 mp3= s*** box!!!!!!

MAzda won't buy your car back. Not going to happen. only way that will happen is if it's proven that the cars cannot be fixed. I mean all of them.

The guy I'm dealing with through Mazda has been really nice so far. In all fairness, He seems to be doing what he can. I can tell you that my father had some issues with a Honda way back, and Honda never gave him the time of day(he's driven Honda's all his life, and is a very big Honda guy), so the fact that they are at least trying to do something is nice, I'm just wondering if it's going anywhere???

I have another meeting with this guy mid next week, in person this time, I am pretty sure there is not going to be any new news next week, as I am guessing a fix is still quite some time away. Designing a new back end suspension fix, testing it, and fabricating the proper pieces has got to be time consuming and tedious.

But, from my personal point of view, I've been doing this dance for 20+ months, and I'm wondering if there's going to be an end. their probaby will be but is my patience going to last that long? I'm hearing all positive things from Mazda of Canada, but not seeing anything happen. This is not their fault, I'm in NF, and someone else's car is the guinea pig 2500 kms away, so that person is watching the progress 1st hand. Had I given my car to Mazda like they asked, sure I would probably actually see more 1st hand.

So, patience is key, something we all need. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the MP3 is s***. It is one of the best cars I've owned. The suspension problems are the only gripes I have, and if they can fix the clunk crap, I think that will solve 80-90 percent of my problems for sure, and I can start enjoying the car again. Of course, I'm selling it, so i may not have it anymore once the fix comes out.

Question is, will I be driving a Mazdaspeed then?????
