Anyone see this on their screen when viewing maps. Sorry the picture is blurry but you can still clearly see the cloud or haze. Not sure if a weather feature or what.

This picture wouldn't post in the attachments section so I just posted it here since this one you can really see it.

I have a high end Garmin GPS that juxtaposes current satellite weather data onto the map screen (requires monthly weather subscription from a third party) but I do not think that's what you're seeing. It is handy when I'm dodging thunderstorms in the mountain passes.

My 2013 CX-5 doesn't have what your seeing and I'm not sure what it is supposed to represent.

Does it go away when you zoom in closer? Looks like your picking up the clouds?

Nah it definitely stays there. You can see in the other image where it's zoomed in and you can still see the haze/cloud.

Do the 'clouds' zoom in/out in proportion to the terrain? It would be cool to see a photo without motion blur.

Yeah like if you look at the zoomed in picture, the cloud/haze is more widespread and all over the screen. But the zoomed out picture, you can see the specific areas of clouds/haze and than where it's just black. I'll try and snap one tonight to give a better picture. That is if I see it tonight. It's sunny today if in fact it's clouds.

Yep, just last week on a long trip. I use map in 2D mode. Was driving so could not investigate.

Oh good. Just glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Here are some updated pictures. Still clearly see the clouds/haze in various areas of the map.

Do you see any pattern in the display background when you are not in navigation?

There's a wispy cloud pattern in the background of mine much of the time, or at least on the home screen. I just figured it was just some kind of wallpaper to add visual interest to the display.
I'll check next time to see if it shows up on the Nav screen. (I'm figuring the 2016 CX-3 and CX-5 infotainment systems are similar)

Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about and its not that. I've tested it back an forth and the cloud pattern that's on the main screen, disappears as soon as the maps pop up.

Do the "clouds" correspond to elevation differences? Could it be a crude attempt to represent terrain?

I'm thinking that's what it may be. Although I haven't done any comparisons with elevation and when the clouds show up. Thinking its just there way of maybe throwing in a little extra flair to make it look more 3D. Really not sure. Wish I could figure it out.
