close call this morning...

Well, today was a landmark day for more than one reason: 1) I hit 4000 miles today in the speed3, and 2) I came within inches of getting nailed by a dump truck...

For starters, it snowed last night and then froze over this morning. I was in the right lane of a road that merged from two to one lane with my turn signal on and plenty of room to get in. Then this dumb b**** in a gmc jimmy guns it from behind me, takes my spot and cuts me off. Now I am in the slushy shoulder going sideways with a bridge and sign coming up fast. So i slightly adjust, hoping not to spin, and the car comes back on the road, but still sliding. Now I am sliding left towards oncoming traffic, which just my luck includes a LARGE dump truck. I re-adjusted, thinking sign and bridge are much better than dump truck, and just then, DSC kicked on and i wiggled my way back to straight.

This was waaaaaay too close of a call for me, especially at 7am. I think I will have nightmares of those dump truck lights for a while. Oh and at the stoplight ahead, lets just say i gave that b**** in the jimmy a piece of my mind....

damn man that is a close one... crap like that happens to me all the time... though whats almost just as scary is when the dumb ass in the suv that cuts you off doesn't realize that their mighty suv isn't the bestest and they get it sideways in front of you due to a slushy shoulder and they just had to get by you in bumper/bumper traffic... thank god for snow tires...

ha well i usually take my friends jeep in the snow, so my ms3 doesnt have snow tires. He had an appt today, so i was stuck in my car. I just say thank god that i grew up in the northeast and have become a pretty good driver in the snow/ice...

I drove my car for the first time in snow today and its a death trap even with only an inch or coating on the ground, I wish this car came with all seasons.

yeah... Delaware sucks... it seems the entire state goes into panic/aggressive mode in the snow (this includes snow that doesnt stick)

honestly it doesnt surprise me @ all... and Im sure the Jimmy driver didnt give 2 s****...

when we got that snow (thurs night?) I was up near wilmington... on kirkwood hwy... where its 3 lanes..

3 salt trucks start to pull out... the first one comes ALLL the way over to the far left lane (my lane) and cuts me off... so I move over to the right (middle lane)... and the second truck gets right infront of me (then turns on his salt... insult to injury, throwing salt ALL over my car) and by that point the last truck was blocking me from the right..

they then decide to pace each other just enough to not let a single person by.... and driving at like 20 mph.

the downside? the roads were already salted... the snow was pretty much melted, and only the outside lanes really had anything on them (until you were in wilmington) so I was being bogarted by these trucks simply because they were bigger.
