Clocking the turbo?

:
Mazdaspeed Protege 2003.5
I am putting together a FMIC kit right now and I was wondering if anyone has clocked (rotated) their turbo to make it easier to fit the pipes? It seems like this would make life a whole lot easier and I'm just checking to see if anyone has done it or why they haven't done it. Thanks for any help.

You can do it, but you need to make a different bracket or install a aftermarket wastegate

With the clocking you can make the piping alittle shorter. Will it make a difference? Who knows? Will it look cleaner? Thats why I might eventully do this.

I see where you're coming from on that, but don't forget that a water cooled turbo such as ours should be clocked a certain way for the water cooling to work as designed. I think I found the info on Garrett's site. Check into it.

Thanks for the input guys/gals? We have decided that it wouldn't be worth it once we got under the car and took a look. Can't wait to get the piping done:)
