Clock losing minutes?

Hey all...

2006 Mazda3 HB 1,876 miles Sept 2005

For some odd reason, my clock every couple of weeks or so loses minutes. For example, today I got in my car and my clock was 15 minutes off. It varies from time to time, sometimes it is 7 or 8 minutes but today was the worst. I think this happened last week too but I am not for sure. So, I hope it is not getting worse.

I do have my Sirius radio always plugged into the cig lighter but the power gets cut when I shut off the car. It does right?? :)

Any idea why or has this happened to anyone?

you must be traveling through some sort of time vortex dude...

in all honesty sounds like you have some battery issue as the clock is attached not to the car battery but to the computer in the car so i would just take it in to the dealership... should be an easy remedy

definately sounds like sumthin related to the flux capicator, Mine goes backwards really fast when i hit 88MPH. lol
on a serious note though mine does the same thing.take it to the dealer while ur still in warrenty

I've heard this on a good number of '06 vehicles. Not sure if a resolution is available yet (most likely in the form of a flash upgrade), but notify your dealer anyway so you can get the upgrade when it's available (if it's not already available).

that really sucks. if the computer cant keep truck of the seconds in the clock i wonder how it does keeping other info up to date. It would be nice if it forgot to count some miles.

They replace the entire clock (or so the mazda people told me) when I just had my last service, they replaced it under warrenty while it was there. They said they have had a few that have been doing this problem.

Happening to me, too!

I have an '06 5-door with 900 miles on it. It has done this twice, the first time almost 15 minutes exactly and the second time 27 minutes. I thought I was going crazy.

At least it is happening to others, so hopefully they have a fix for it. I'm going to call the service dept. tomorrow. Will let you guys know if I find out anything.

oh crap..then it ain't me imagining things...

my clock just lost time again, this makes two instances so far - just hit 1000 miles. damnable flux capcitor.

My prob seemed to have gone away when they swapped out my HU for the 6 disc changer I'd ordered.
Sounds like time for you to make a dealer appt!

Yes the new ones are doing it. Mazda is aware of the problem but doesn't have a fix as of yet. So far we gave them a choice, replace it and hope the new unit doesn't do it or wait until the fix is out.

Hello guys,

welcome me to the club... The clock in my '06 S Touring lost 15 minutes for the first time few weeks ago and it has happened two more times since and just happened again this morning.

At first I thought it was temperature related, as it had happened twice in the evening when leaving work. However, this morning the car had been parked all night in the garage at home, so....

At any rate, I just passed 4,000 miles, so the car will be soon due for the first oil change. I'll tell them to check the clock. I hope they won't have to replace anything, I hate to think the dashboard will have to be taken apart so soon in the life of the car. I have already one rattle driving me nuts.....
