Climate control questions/flaws?

Hello,

I just bought the CX 5 Grand Touring with Tech package and noticed a couple of issues with the climate control. Was wondering if anyone else had these issues or if mine was broken? I noticed that when I get in the car and turn it on the controls reverte back to A/C on and mode changes to to feet. Even if I turn the heater off and then quickly on again, it turns on the A/C as soon as I push the on button. This is really silly to me. Why doesn't it recall where I left it? I'm also having issues finding a comfortable temp for the cab. Anyone else having this issue?

I haven't tested all the settings. But going off the way my old Mazda 3 worked, the climate control would determine the best way to distribute the aircon to reach the temperature you need.

For example, if you set a warm temperature the fastest way to get to that temperature is by forcing all the heat through the floor. Three reasons for this:
1. Obviously - heat rises, so delivering to the floor is best. 2. Floor allows distribution to front and rear (because rear outlets under under the front seats) 3. Pushing quickly to one set of vents (floor) is faster than dividing between 2 (face + floor)

In summer when temps are warm, the reverse occurs and the face is often chosen.

This only occurs on climate control where you set a temperature. If you turn this off and control manually, the system will just leave it on whatever you've set it to.

When you think about it.... the system is doing it the most efficient way.

I noticed that sometimes when I started the car and turned on the a/c that it would change to upper vents only even though I had set it to use the upper/lower setting before. I finally figured out that I was pushing the auto button (the one on the left side) to start the a/c so that changes the settings. If the a/c is off and I just turn the fan dial clockwise, the a/c will kick in using my settings.

If yall would check if you have a GT with auto temp, the tempature sensor seems to be getting a flow of Cool air around it from the steering column...

this is giving it a false reading of the interior temp of the vehicle.

if you turn your air up and between the rack and the sensor, see if you feel airflow, im curious now if there is something wrong with mine or its by design.

Not sure I understand what you mean. If you can clarify, I'll attempt to recreate.

Ive noticed that the AC control does turn on once you press the on button for the auto climate. In theory this makes sense as its using the AC and heater to auto regulate the cabin temp. Before turning off you car, if you leave the AC off and set to your personalized temp, the AC should remain off when you turn he car back on and the temp you set should still be the same.

The AC only engages when you press the auto climate button or turn the dial to a much cooler setting. The vent positions do change with auto on. Depending on your cabin temp the vent positions will change to either defog the windows or to normal air flow settings.

It's been like this for me.

Yes! You are genius! This is what I was doing too. Thanks!
