Cleaning the black piano trim

:
2019 CX5 Reserve AWD
Anybody find a good product or made one to clean the trim round the shifter and the door.
It's beyond me why Mazda would put that in the vehicle.

Alternatively, instead of the detail brushes + shop vac, you can use a keyboard cleaner like https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned) to lift loose dirt away without scratching the surface. If you clean the trim often enough with the brushes+shop vac or keyboard cleaner, it never gets dirty enough to need a wipedown (at least in my experience). I still clean it properly once a year though.

First, you need to buy these detail brushes.
Use them in conjunction with your shop vac to lift dust/debris away without scratching.

Then you need to buy these plush microfiber towels.
Spray your interior detailer of choice (mine is ONR) on one corner of the towel and lightly/gently wipe in one direction. Then follow up with a dry corner of the towel.

Already use soft brushes. Have plenty of MF towels. Was asking what products people were using.
I'll see if I can find ONR.
Is ONR pretty common at the auto parts store? Who makes it?

But you need to have the RIGHT detail brushes and MF towels.
There are lots of brushes and towels that will scratch the hell out of the piano black plastic.
These tools are the critical part. The specific interior cleaner you pick is far less important.

ONR (Optimum No Rinse) can't be purchased at auto parts stores.
I suggest visiting Autogeek.com.

I use ONR because it is so versatile, since you can dilute it into many different uses...
clay lube, exterior detailer, interior detailer, rinseless wash, ect.

ONR stands for Optimum No Rinse - The company is called Optimum and the product is https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned) ($44). They also sell a No Rinse Wash & Wax. I'm currently using a similar product called https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned) ($28). If you want something easily accessible at stores like Autozone, Canadian Tire, or Wal-Mart, try Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer.

You can get this much cheaper at Autogeek.
$32/gallon when you take advantage of their never-ending 20% off sales.

But there is no way the OP needs a full gallon of ONR.
A 32oz container lasts me for YEARS (though I don't use it as a full car wash).

Very true, I just compared it using Amazon because the other product I mentioned isn't available on Autogeek. I also compared that particular size (where the cost difference is more significant) because I do use it in between regular car washes and I use it on both of my cars. For the purpose of interior detailing, a 32 oz bottle would indeed last a very, very long time.

Btw wlong01, when you use these products, they leave a thin layer of protection that makes it easier to clean. On something like interior trim, the more often you use it, the easier it gets.
