cleaning products?

:
Mazda Protege 2003 2.0L
Hey, just wondering, i like my protege to be spotless. ive found a few cleaning products, but they dont perform as well as i thought. any suggestions? i know mothers has a GREAT line of products, and the best part, the dont smell horrible. but anything to really shine the black, and clean it well? i dont want to pull the whole interieor apart to scrub it, but if thats watt i gotta do then so be it. but im jus throwing the question out there, whats hot, and whats not.

i need all kinda products like, window cleaner, tire shine, wax, seat cleaner, and most of all, scratch cover up/ remover. i have a ton of scratches from the winter and my 'rents scraping up the paint w/ ice scrapers =[

any reccomendations would help!

thanks!!(hear ya) (2thumbs)

There used to be a detailing subforum, but i think it's gone from here now. Through it, I learned of autopia.com

Careful though, it's an addiction, and lots of acronyms. Check out the secret decoder ring there when you feel like your reading greek.

Good info though.

Products that I use include
Interior : meguiars nxt tech protectant
Paint: Jeff Werkstatt's product line: Prime, Acrylic Jett, Acrylic Jett trigger. (i recommend the trigger over just plain AJ purely for ease of use)

Polishes : Poorboys SR2.5 and 2.0 (can be used in direct sunlight, but tend to dust)

Clay: mothers california gold clay bar kit. (comes with a quick detailer as lube, that smells like red hots/gumball

Woolight/water mix for all purpose cleaner

Tires: i've used Megs and armor all tire foam w/brush for cleansing, expermented topping with Megs extreme hot shine , and also their tire gel product. (the one that smells like grape kool aid). I've pics of the different tire products results so you can choose if you prefer shiny/matte etc I'll post if your interested.

Glass: stoners glass cleaner and megs nxt glass cleaner both with microfiber towels.

Various microfiber towels/ waffle weave drying towel is great!

I also invested in a portercable 7424 random orbital buffer and pads for paint correction.

Products I plan to try in the future: Optimum No Rinse wash and shine (ONR)
and FinishKare FK1 (fk425) quick detailer/anti static

Remember, it's all about the prep work.

ahhh autopia.....aka half my paycheck goes there lol. There is still a little used detailing subforum...its under Protege apperance.

JW Prime strong and AJT is a good combo.
I wouldn't do any swirl removing without a Porter cable myself. It makes things a lot easier.

Seems like Menzerna is the HOT thing to get at the moment for polishing/swirl removing.

Pretty much any claybar will work, they're pretty much all the same.

I also like Stoner window cleaner.

Damn, you guys are serious. I just do the basic: wash, clay bar, wash, Zaino, done.

clay bar is just that. a bar of clay. YOu use speed spray polish and rub the clay on the wet paint surface, and it removes particles and impurities out of the clear coat so you can restore that glass like finish to the paint. they work great
