Cleaning "jean" stains from cx-5 sport cloth seats?

Hey all!

I just noticed on my cx-5 sport that I have some blue "jean stains" on my sand color seats! Before I attempt to clean them off, have any of you had this similar thing happen? I don't want to put any chemicals on it if I potentially do it more harm. It was probably my Calvin Klein jeans that leaked on them..

Also, do any of you use "seat covers" on your vehicles? I'm tempted to grab a set from Amazon. I wonder if they are any comfy.

Thanks for any advice!

The owners manual probably has some suggestions on cleaning seats. My regular Wrangler jeans have not caused a problem yet. Ed

Hmm. On a side note, keep those jeans nice and blue by hang dry only, shirts too keep it newer longer.

I would look into something like meguiars all purpose cleaner or the all purpose cleaner plus. I can't remember which one is better for low foaming but get that one. Best if used in an extraction machine like the bissel little green or something. Even a regular carpet cleaner with the upholstery attachment should work.

I looked at the difference between the two APC cleaners. APC+ is the low foaming one and a bit stronger at the same concentrations as the regular APC. If you use a machine to clean then go for the apc+ If doing by hand the foaming action in the regular APC will help you see where you've been. I have the regular APC and like it for cleaning all sorts of things.

pre-treat with an apc or even 303 multi-fabric cleaner or 303 spot remover. careful with light agitation with a brush that it does not spread the stain. try a test area first with your cleaning product of choice such as a heavy dilution ratio of an apc to make sure it won't harm the area of interest. spray a heavy apc dilution or other cleaning product on a cloth then blot the area. and if you have access to one, try a hot carpet extractor. if you've successfully removed the stain, let the fabric dry. then apply a fabric guard for protection like scotch guard or chemical guys fabric guard. tan/beige tend to have noticeable stains, i would use a protectant and if you don't mind a seat cover that would also help.

edit to add:
ride92, the meguiars low foaming apc (orange color / d103?) is discontinued. last i heard it was sold in a large multi-gallon but is no longer. i've heard good things about optimum's apc.
