Merry Christmas to all,

Here is a list of things that I beleive would make the CX9 a much more enjoyable car to use while driving. If the 2010 has them, then let me know? List yours too.

* Center console with more space and double-door
* Real leather [i heard the 2010 is better; are we there yet?]
* A real sunglass holder
* When you drive forward, the doors lock
* A much better driver drink holder design to allow more than one cup handle
* Glove compartment bigger than a shoe-box
* An outside Temp gauge, not punching a button everytime you start-up
* MPG digital tracker

These were all standard on my 2003 Sequoia, yet not on a 2009 GT???

What do you guys think?

thanks,
tstex

Yes, 2010's leather is much softer and finer compared to the plastic-que and grainy leather I have on 2008. I thought 2009 already came with the trip computer. I have ScanGuageII-X to take care of that and more.

My wish list:
- direct-injection (improves torque, hp and mpg)
- better NAVI system (use Ford's THINK+), not Toyota's lousy Denso system
- more room behind 3rd row
- sky roof (life the Ford Edge)

Ceric,

There are tripdistance gauges [two of them: A&B for miles you traveled], but nothing that states the real time MPG or the accumulative MPG or DTE [distance to empty]. If there is, then pls enlighten me...I have a 2009 GT for the record.

Merry Christmas Guys,

PS - what is ScanGuageII-X..how does in intergrate into the CX9? thx

My 2009 Touring states real time MPG, average MPG on current trip, and distance to empty.

Pressing the Info button cycles through the options and displays it in place of the clock.

this is surprising to me since my 2009 GT also has trip computer displaying all you just mentioned. does it only come with a GT Assist pkge maybe? was it a mid-year addition to the model? strange...

Just Rember To Reset

My 2009 Touring states real time MPG, average MPG on current trip, and distance to empty.

Pressing the Info button cycles through the options and displays it in place of the clock.

After each fillup I push the INFO button and reset all of the displays so I am starting fresh with each tankfull. Otherwise the data is accumulative and not a good representative of actual per tank conditions.

My additions:

The liftgate should turn on ALL the interior lights, so you can use the rear dome lights as cargo lights. Not sure if 2010 added this.

Make the rear cargo area hard plastic with more tie downs. Then offer a drop in carpeted mat if you want carpet back there.

I agree with these two also but did not make note of them before...regarding the sunglass holder, I too would like 2-3 holders, but none of my Vuarnet's will not fit...their not cheap either.

Overall the CX9 is a pretty nice c-over/car.

Finally, I wanted all of your opinions on the internal silver trim issues? My dealer replaced all of them, because as noted in the TSB, the paint came off very easily. Now, the new trim is wearing very quickly. The prior defective trim, would scratch very easy and you could feel and see where the paint was missing. Now, you cannot feel anything [it is completely smooth] where the painted is removed/worn, but it is a lighter silver than the outer paint. The replacement trim is only 3 months old. Should this be doing this or has anyone else experienced this too? The silver trim that goes around the gear shifter [original] is doing exatly the same thing [6 months old].

I would appreciate your feedback.

Wish list:

Better leather and get rid of the cheesy bi-color vinyl on the seat surface. Mazda needs to look at Acura's MDX and see what it should look like. Perforated leather is even better.

An integrated audio system. After 2 1/2 years w/ this rig, I'm still pissed off that I cannot use the AUX jack because I have the NAV and Sirius radio. A complete lack of engineering on Mazda's part.

An integrated antenna for SAT radio. The Sirius antenna looks like a cheap add-on feature.

Better 'carpet'. The stuff under the floor mats is not carpet. It behaves like bad velcro.

Class 3 receiver hitch (factory installed)

More power - let's get 320HP out of a stout V6.
