you will find ecu related mods harder to come by than you are thinking in the protege world....

there are ones available in australia, but they only work on 98ron octane - we get 95 as standard

you might as well spend your money on other things...more power for the same price

complete utter s*** on ebay. search for threads on "microtech" and you will definatly see thats unless you planned on spending $2000+ you shouldnt be looking into chips.

hey twilightprotege, can you send us more info on the chips you blokes get in oz? just for information's sake. and as for running on 98ron octane, we get much higher quality fuel up here in canada than do the folks in cali.

there you go...i actually just noticed that they have quite a few options there. just so you know, ultimate and optimax are 98ron, premium unleaded is 95ron and standard unleaded is 92ron

thanks for the linky!

yeah, i remember reading up on the conversion for RON octane measurements to the octane measurements we have here in N. america (i forget what it's called)....

hmm...... 10kW bump for AUS$990 eh? not the best power to cost ratio...

that's about 13hp for US$684....

seen a commercial on the speed channel offering a device that plugs into computer under steering wheel to reprogram chip guarenteeing more HP, the device if I remember is about $600.00+ dont know how valid it is...

Elias...saw something on "Two Guys Garage" about that too...the company programs the handheld with new code and you reflash your own ECU. Hmmm...there's a thought.

yeah, the company had a catchy name and a website but i did not catch it, when I mentioned it to my friend, he said that people sometimes buy it and charge others like $50-100 to flash their cars... From what he said the gains are nominal but they do work and it was pretty safe... was wondering if anyone had a link on this, a group buy would be cool for people in the same area...

by the way Mcstark, I am now miving again, this time I will be In Carmel right of of 84....

Elias...no luck on a Google search...I was trying to find the Episode they did it on. It was either Two Guys Garage or Shade Tree Mechanic. I'll keep looking...

Good luck on the move...Westchester is so damn expensive -- hence the reason I didn't stay.

You guys are talking about the Hypertech or the Jet I think. They really only work for GM vehicles.
