Hey guys! Could somebody tell me if 1995 1.5L Proteges is ODD-1 or OBD-2?
I understand that it's been discussed a lot here and on other Protege forums, but believe me, i've read a lot of them.
But the problem is that all these threads contradict themselves. Many say 1995 Protege is OBD-2 and many say it's OBD-1.
OBD-1 is what the sticker under the hood of my car says too, but still many claim it's OBD-2.
And when it is OBD-1, then is there a way of checking your own engine codes(sticking a paper clip to TEN and GND in the diagnostic box and then reading the flashes), or do you really have to payy 100$ to have it checked out at a repair shop?
I've read that you can read your own codes on OBD-1 cars with the paper clip method, but that method only seems to apply to 1 gen. Proteges.
So what about pre-1996 2 gen. Proteges? Is there a way for us to check the codes for free as well?
