check out the mexican version of p5

To tell you the truth, it looks more like a cheap grocery-getter then the US sport wagon version to me. Are those hubcaps? And no roof rack? The foglights on this one don't quite give me the rally/touring car impression that I love about mine.
I gotta say I am very pleased with the US version compared to this one.

Also it has two tone interior and the guages are black. Also, the grill is chrome. It's more of a mix of the ES and the P5.

I agree that the US versions looks better. Keep in mind that Mexico isnt as well off as the US in terms of money. They normally get the more watered down economical cars. Not a bad thing per-say.

I do like the rear lights. They are the same as the J-Spec ones. The US ones are nice but in oreder to have something different I would buy them.

Of all the Latin American countries, Mexico is the most well off. So, they're not that bad off and their economy is actually relatively strong. Thanks to NAFTA, their oil, & Uncle Sam. ;)

lol

Anybody that wants those taillights, I can see Mexico from my back yard (Tijuana actually) if anybody knows where a mazda dealership is I might just have to make a run for the border

I like our red lighting but prefer blue. When you use your high beams, the indicator comes on in blue. I want my gauges to be that blue. Is it possible to change the lights? If so, is it difficult?

That's my car fellas

It's not suposed to be the latinamerican equvialent of the P5, it's suposed to compete with local corollas(1.6l 110hp and 1.8l 115hp) and civics(1.6l and 1.6l V-tec same as the US ones) , it doesn't have the body kit, the engine is 1.6l, 2.0 isn't available here and my other option was the sedan with 1.8l and it only comes with an auto tranny. It might lack some of the stuff the P5 comes with but for a litle over 11.000$ US I think it's a great buy and I love it. so, to all the haterz: (moon)

I'm getting some parts from the P5 bodykit and maybe the aluminum interior trim, allong with some other mods.
-Rogue_Biker: 120mph is more like 200km/h

And FYI, I'm from Venezuela not Mexico, the fact that my first language is spanish doesn't automatically make me a Mexican.

yeah, I know, when I went to the dealership and the woman told me that they also had a 1.3l I went like: (rofl) , I was hoping that they had the 2.0l and I didn't care if costed more, but for some odd reason they don't sell it here, but the 1.6l with the manual tranny is not bad and I haven't even been able to really push it cuz I'm still in the break in period.

bore it out to a 1.8!!!

then you'll be set....

actually.. n e 1 know if a 1.6 p5 can be bored out to 1.8??

i know on my mp3 one of my original plans was to bore from 2.0 to 2.2 but i found out the walls are WAY to thin to really add any displacement.... so... oh well

but the 1.6 -> 1.8 may be a diff story.. you should check it out man

peace

I don't think Ill mess with the engine, at least not in the next 5 years or so, maybe Ill throw in a CAI and a exhaust system...some headers would be nice also, but no mayor mods.

Right now I'm saving $$$ to put the sound sys, I just need a couple of hundred dollars more and Itll be set.
