check engine p0126

Drove from San Diego to Iowa and check engine light came on in mountains. Antifreeze set to -14 is this causing it? Do I need a new thermostat or does mazda need to update the computer causing check engine light? Came on again after clearing it out and it was 22 F Maybe car just doesn't like cold in Iowa?

Some PCMs do have a update but most of the time its the thermostat.
