Could some one with an intake tell me whats wrong with my intake, the check engine light keeps coming on for no reason. The only way for me to get it to turn off is to dissconnect the battery and reset the computer. What could be wrong.
can they check a car this new cuz so far the times ive been to auto zone they cant find/halp me with me car. i have checked all the sensors though and their all fine.
Never used it, never heard of it, really, but a quick google search brought it up. Says it works with teh 6 and RX-8, so I'm 99% sure it works with the 3 also. Ive used similar OBDII scantools with much success. Price may be a little steep, but I think its a worthy investment.
i just wondering if anyone else with any kind of intake has had any kinda problems like this. Cuz the thing is if i reset the computer then everythings fine for a while.
yeah with the short term and long term fuel trim levels set by the pcm...you might be getting the cels I'm getting. when you leave the stock spects you get a cel stealing alot of the hp you got from the instal. once cpe gets a 3i/s to test they should alow you guys to run 3 inch intake piping and no cel. yeah get it scanned to make shure the fuel trim levels is the REAL reason for the cel.
pulling neg terminal or having autoxray can bus scanner. If you guys show enough intrest to cp-3 they might start making intakes which have a maf customizer to eliminate cels all together for intake.
I have a feeling that those who install the Auto-exe speed parts will have to be cautious. The Auto-exe parts are all manufactured and (hopefully) tuned for the JDM-spec Mazda3's. There are a few differences between North American-spec and JDM-spec engines, one being compression ratio. I am sure there are more differences, but this is the only one i can remember with certainty.
Because of these differences in the engines, the ECU will undoubtedly have different programming. With parts tuned for a different engine and ECU, the JDM-spec speed parts could throw a CEL in our NA-spec cars very easily. (shrug)
difrence is pistons, blocks, cams, pcm tunning, 91 and up octane rating, as stated befoe difrent stroke and compression, and a few toehr things. the ram air is designed to be used w/o headlight intact as well.
ok well i found the problem. theres a fin that goes in the intake that determins the amount of air that is let in. Theres big one and a small one, i put the big one on, what do ya know problem fixed.
