Check engine light

This past weekend I was driving and suddenly my check engine light came on. I noticed that when I came to a stop the idle was very low. I took it to the dealer yesterday morning and they replaced the fuel pump which caused the light to turn off. Suddenly that evening the check engine light came on again and the idle was weird. Has anyone had this problem? The car was bought new in June and has 9000 miles.

My dealer changed my fuel pump once before i bought it and 3 times after i bought it and it still has check engine light. They finally gave up and told me that my cold air intake caused the problem and that my warantee is gone on the engine. Just pull the bottom part of your back seat up and tap on the black plate with the line going in it. It worked for me. I thank that mazda just needs to get another fuel pump kuz these suck.

Im kinda confused when you say "they just gave up". Did they properly diagnose the problem? And tapping the plate solved the idle problem??

After changing the fuel pump all those times they finally just told me that they cant figure out whats wrong with it and told me that my CAI voided my warantee. The tapping technique is just a temporary fix itl eventually start up again but then i just tap on it again. Basicly the dealership said screw you your on your own.

Jon, go back to the dealer you are still under warranty. at 9000 miles you shouldnt have a problem. they will only deny warranty claims if you have modified your car, which i am assuming is not the case.

Three, it may or may not be the case that the idle problem is the CAI, did you try putting the stock air box back on? if that doesnt work take it back to the dealer, or another dealer with the stock air box on. they like using any mods you have as an excuse not to do warranty work even if the problem is unrelated.

I found out that my car had been doing this since before i bought it. They said that it had died 4 times just getting it from the show room to the service department so they changed the fuel pump. Then after i bought it they changed the fuel pump 3 more times and by then i had the intake on it and the header on it and the drop kit. Ever since i put the header on it its only done it once may not have been because of the header but i think that it just had some kinks to work out. Just recently passed 35000
