check engine light on

i was under my hood with the engine running!!! i pulled one of the wires.. and the check engine light came on.. how can i reset it??? do i have to take it to the dealer????

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, see if that helps

Or you can run the car as normal. Provided you've reconnected the wire, the light should clear itself after about three on/off cycles.

Else, you can drive by my place and I can hook it up to the OBDII scanner I picked up last week.

where can i get a obdII thingy?

You can get a obII at Autozone, somtimes they already have one open and they will let you use it.
