check engine light - bank 1 running lean

i've got 157k miles on my 03 p5. the check engine light just came on saying bank 1 is running lean. I was looking online at getting a rebuilt fuel injector and noticed that there are 2 different colors of injectors (purple and green). does the color mean the injectors are different? Does it matter if i replace a green one with a purple one? can anyone help me out with this

it should make a difference or otherwise the company would not have done that. Replace with same color injector unless told otherwise (just applying logic here - not knowledge).

they're the same rate, same impedence, same flow, same connector.. don't sweat it.

I would however suggest that other things could possibly be the cause for a bank 1 lean condition, why are you going for the injectors?

Bank 1 does not mean fuel injector #1 is at fault. You likely have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Before you start changing injectors, check out the air intake tube that leads from the airbox to the throttle body. A tear in that will let unmetered air into the engine and cause a P0171 error code (bank 1 running lean). This is a common problem that all high-mileage Proteges seem to suffer.

Had the same cel pop up on my car about two week's ago turned out to be injector #1 and #2 had a vacuum leak right at the o-ring.Pulled them off cleaned the dirt and crap lubed up the o-rings once again and walla No Cel..
