changing tranny oil

Today, i was going to change my tranny oil. i went to pepboys and autozone to look for ither redline oil or royal purple. and found nothing.. only 74 140.. i need 75 90.. is there any other oil good to use like moble 1???? i hear some whining comeing from the tranny and since i bought the car i havent changed it.. other then dat im just wating for my lsd to go (blowup)

What part of Jersey are you from? In howell, theres a place called Shore Motorsports, they can order whatever you want, wheter it be redline or royal purple, really good guys to deal with!

Using Mobil1 without issue. Check your level in the meantime to make sure its not low.

did a little reserch on the mobil.... car was a tundra 07 5.7. and it wore out his lsd.. i 5,000 miles do to no lsd aditive.....

might try the penn but it didnt mention lsd

Don't believe everything you read on the net as to cause and effect. Mobil 1 has not been a problem for my oem LSD. But get whatever helps you sleep at night. Driving style affects your LSD more than anything else.

i hear ya.. i think the whine has me more worried ever since i put on my 18's i herd it at first i thought wheel bering.. but the other nite it was about 2 am.. im cruzing along nice street im hearing it i press mute on my head unit... hear the whine i pull the ebrake same note i press the brake same note... i hit gas a little same note i put in nutrul gone... ok i go again... i give it gas whine... i let go a decelirating whine... has to be tranny fluid also it jerks alot... lately... i do have solid motor mounts... and chatters to the point my whole dash is vibrating in ft of me...

go to a GM dealer and tell them you want GM syncromesh.. thats what i got/did and it works perfectly for our trannies.. it's easy to find too

i know it sounds strange to some, but i got that in oil in my 3 previous cars.. in winter the tranny works alot better too.. and the s*** is alot smoother.

Go with GM Syncromesh or Redline.

I put in the following, which yielded a weight of about 72.5w85
1 quart MT90
1 quart MTL
1 quart MT90

penzoil snycromesh is what i have been running and absolutely love it!! I run 2 quarts penzoil syncromesh for gm vehicles and one quart of lucas oil stabilizer, car shifts like a dream boat, and ive tried them all, mobil 1, redline, royal purple. By far pennzoil and lucas is the winner!!

I never realized people actually used that stuff in the displays at all those parts stores. I always thought that stabilizer display was a gimmick. Do you use the heavy duty or synthetic? For those of you who don't know, you can read up on the stabilizer at the Lucas web site. Maybe I will try that combination when I am up for my next fluid change. What's the frequency for the tranny fluid again? Is it 30k miles?

I've been changing mine about every 20k, but I think it's every 30k. I'm running royal purple and have had good results.

Yup! I use the regular lucas stabilizer in my trans, and I use a quart of lucas synthetic in my motor. Lucas is good stuff, never had one complaint about it!!

Wow, I always thought that lucas stuff was a bunch of BS. I might have to give that a try. My tranny is due for a change in about 3k
