I recently bought a 2012 Mazda Cx5 that has in a Deck Pioneer C9P8 its all in Japanese and it does not have USB options to play music. I want to swap it out urgently to something better and add in an amp and sub. I saw this on ebay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...2&toolid=10001&campid=&icep_item=151295442777 or https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) but i'm not sure if they can work or give me the upgrade that i would like. I'm not concerned about the GPS capabilities at all. I;m only concerned about having USB Media files playback, Retain Steering Wheel Controls, and Retain Rearview Camera. I was wondering about getting another Pioneer but the connections are totally different and it wouldn't allow for the steering wheel controls to work as well. Can I have some help as to what the best options I can do to change out the stereo. I really want to be able to play USB music.

The back of the stereo that's currently in looks like the pics that i uploaded.

I would stick to a known brand. Those cheap Chinese radios, are android based(read, under powered cpu) and they are slow. That is what I have gathered from forums.
See if this info will help you:

Yes, avoid those unknown brand HU, I had one n it took half a minute to boot to have the reverse screen every time I start my engine, It is now in my garage waiting for the next garage sale. The steering control is nothing complete like you will lose your voice command.
I think the Pioneer HU that op has is good, perhaps there is a way to add an USB reader without needing to change the HU. Operating language? Doesn't it looks so cute in Japanese, those simple Japanese characters are simple enough to understand, and you not using the navigation make life a lot easier.
