CHanging oil

SUp guys, my friend with the mazda3 has to change his oil. and rather then having it done, he is doing it himself. THe only problem he has is he says there is an allen bolt he needs to take off in order to obtain access to the oil filter, any of you guys know what size that allen key needed would be? thanx.

you don't need to take that allen screw out to gain acess to the cartridge you. its more of a convenience that you unscrew it and let the oil drain out of it before you undo the plastic housing.... iirc its a 6mm but i am only around 75% sure

HE meant for the oil filter, he cant get to the oil filter unless he takes off an allen bolt he says.
