Change to Protege 5 section setup?

Change the layout of the Protege 5 section set-up like the Mazdaspeed section?

So, I wanted to get everyones opinion on an idea for the Protege 5 section. Would you all like to see the lay out change to the way of the Mazdaspeed sectionand have it segregated into different sections? Or do you like the way they are set up now? Please post your opinions on this matter as the decision depends on your thoughts

Edit: sorry, here is a link to the MSP section to see the difference MSP Section

I hate having tiny little forums for everyaspect of something.
This board is split up by model and that's good enough. It has an overall suspension forum and audio etc. Many questions a Sedan owner will ask in audio apply to the P5 as well so I see no need to have a seperate P5 audio forum for instance. Same goes for suspension and engine builds. There is a lot of basic knowledge and info to be had, not every P5 owner will have that info.

Also, sometimes i'm just surfing for no reason in the general forum and see a questions I know I can help with, so I duck in and respond, I will not go through each tiny, dead forum to see if there is anything that interests me. That's the beauty of THREADS, you can see all of them and participate or not. But to segregate each thread type seems pointless. All the moderators would ever do is re-direct threads to the "proper" forum.

This is my personal opinion: I think MSP section's setup is good but too many sections for me. I see within the MSP section there are several sections that is duplicated in the main sections (For sale, audio, electronics, etc.) I think if Protege5's section is going to be like that, then we'll be somewhat "separated" from the rest of the forum. Besides, I don't think there is as much traffic here than in MSP. Just my observation. :)

Yep. I kinda like how it is. Plus, if everything was all organized, we wouldn't be able to yell @ n0oBs abt posting in the wrong section!! lol

sweet, good info. Keep it coming guys.

no need to change it. There's already way too many sections on this board to begin with (IMO). The more sections there are, the less sections people will visit and read.

oh, thats nice :). you have one vote in favor of a revamp.

I know I was looking for something the other day and it took me searching through pages of old posts before I just pm'd someone about it.

Also when there are so many off topic, new members, picture threads in here it kinda bumps the real questions off the page too quickly. Separating out a "Lounge + Welcome area" would help.

two words:
"Search Function"

And there's already an off-topic lounge. Why would we need a seperate one in the Protege5 section?

we dont need as many sections as the MSP section, that is kinda overkill, but a P5 lounge would be nice. (dunno)

it seems like every 4th post in here is "i just got a P5"... "new member".... and everyone always has to bump it to remind the n00bs of the search function and get +1 for thier post count. there are members in here that have copy and paste welcomes for theses posts and it clutters the forum. Also there are posts in here like "what do you do for a living"... it seems nobody knows where off topic is

that should be moved to off-topic.

Agreed. It's not so much a need to make other sections. It's a need to have the threads / posts moderated more closely and moved to the appropriate sections.

I already voted, but I agree w/ Pixy. If we have an Lounge / New Member / Show off the cool whatever u did to ur car section, and leave the rest for tech stuff, I think that would work well

EDIT: Maybe we can have an acetone section too (deadhorse (bang)

The only thing that I've ever strongly felt that is different for the P5 compared to the other 3rd gen sedans, minus the body style and length is wheels and suspension. The offset is different and the centerbore might be as well, so finding aftermarket wheels that fit right can sometimes be an issue. But the engine is the same and so is the tranny, appearance isn't a big enough issue to create a P5 specific sub-forum either. For the most part, I say just leave it as is.

So manly it looks like you all want a seperate section for New member / Lounge & suspension. Any other suggestions?
