CEL P0401 - EGR issues

its on the side of the engine right near the turbo inlet and it leads down to the throttle body.

No need to get all butt-hurt because I told you to search something. It was a little bit of sarcasm. Bova pointed you in the right direction. Clear the code and see if it comes back, and if it does, you'll need to remove and clean the EGR, or take it in if you're still in warranty. Sheesh.

i know i was being sarcastic too.. ive learned you and how you are over the months of being a member here so im used to it lol

okay but wats a egr exactly? is it something major?

Exhaust gas recirculation. It's pretty self explanatory, it's an emissions thing. They can get gummed up/plugged over time.

Clear your code and see if it returns. I've had this code once for a second and cleared it, with it never to return.

I just got this code today. My machanic said it's cuz of my straight pipe but the actual valve should be good. What do you guys think bout this?

idk when my code came up, i went and got it cleared and it came back again like few days later and went away and came back again. So i went to the dealer and they replaced it for me for free. Did you try and erasing it? if you didnt try that and if it comes back then go back to stock and go to the dealer and have them replace ur EGR valve

well first of all i don't have warranty, so dealer is out of the question. my mechanic cleared it once and after about 100 miles or so it came back again. but he is saying that the valve is good if the car drives the same. he blames the code showing up on the straight pipes. what do you think?
