CD player wont play after song # 6

Hi everyone, Im having some trouble with my 04 mazda 3 audio system. My CD player only plays from song 1 to song 6. I have this problem with all the CDs (bicker) (bicker)

Has someone else had this problem? What can I do?

Maybe the cd player is overheating? If it stops at song 6 on all CD's I would time how long it takes to stop playing. If it is the same length of time regardless of the CD then I would think that it is probably overheating.

If it is always at song 6 regardless of the length of time, then that's just weird (uhm)

Did you try running a lens cleaner through it? you can get them at like bestbuy or staples or any other electronics place. Just place it in and follow the instructions. Maybe your lens is just dirty?

sounds more like an issue with the electrical or computer as opposed to just a dirty lens... maybe try pulling the head unit completely out and then re-inserting it. it just may need to be completely reset...

try one of those cd's with 30 short songs. and a cd with 2 or 3 long songs

the diferential diagnosis here is whether it is a
software glitch stopping at track 6.
or a runtime overheat,
or a physical travel limitation on the laser head
