Cargo Mat

Hi folks,

Anybody know if anyone makes a cargo mat for the P5 that covers the entire storage area when the rear seats are folded down? As a musician, I'm always hauling tons of (dirty) gear and would like to keep the back of the seats looking nice. I know Mazda makes a few for the P5 for use when the seats are up, but have never seen a larger one for seats-folded-down use. I know I'm probably destined to just use an old blanket or tarp, but a customized fit sure would be nice...

I've got the OEM mat which covers everything but the backs of the seats. It's pretty heavy (matches the floor mats exactly) so making a one piece deal which fit over the little hump left when the seats are folded probably wouldn't be practical.

We've been using a large folded beach towel on the backs of the seats, but I've got my eye out for a large "doormat" kind of product which will do the same thing. Keeping it two separate pieces probably makes more sense.

I got the rubber mat for my MP5. It is very nice for when I go golfing and track the grass and dirt in the car. But I haven't found a mat that covers the seats too.... If you find one, please let me know.

Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted if I hear of anything; in the meantime I think I'll get the Mazda cargo mat and keep using the tarp for the seats.

something you could get and make your own and would look fairly nice and protect your seat backs is.....get some black automotive carpet....just make a big MAT that you can put in and take out....while its there it will look like its supposed to be there and when its not your seat backs will be nice and clean. I did this once to preserve the floor in a van when our kids were little and there was no telling what they might spill in the car.....when we traded the van in the carpet I put in there came out and the floor looked like brand new.....it looked like crap....but it sure did the trick.
