2018 models have the secret plans to the death star in-bedded in the infotainment system as displayed on the HUD. http://www.swihartstudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holo1.jpg
Mazda is set to launch HCCI engines so probably after 2018 more likely the next model change over, you will see this motor on the CX-5

Wheel design.
Any chance they will dump the diesel when the HCCI engine comes in.

Its 2018 and your sitting in the movie theater when this preview trailer appears.
Its a headshot of Vin Diesel in a car revving his engine. Then a headshot of the Rock in his car revving the engine. Screen turns black. Then you see a Vin Diesel in a Diesel CX-5, the Rock in a CRV...both racing to be the first to get into the Burger joint drive thru lane.
blank screen
Then another scene in the middle of the desert. Both Vin Diesel and the Rock racing to get to (somewhere)...at 45mph....both looking down and we see shots of their fuel and mpg gauges.
Cool Movie Voice: "The Fast and the Furious: Hypermile"
Torreto: "After my 3 kids with (by 2 movie character baby mommas), I live my life one quarter mile per gallon at a time." Turns off Sport Mode.
Rock's character: "There's no replacement for CVT small engine displacement." Turns on Eco mode.
Surround camera, LED map lights / cargo lights, maybe individual climate controls for rear vents
We already have side camera on top spec model here. So surround camera is next logical step
Yes, Mazda Australis is always ahead of us, I love their ads too:

2.5 turbo from the CX-9!!! I can see it happening. The car up it's class a bit with the new interior and if it wants to bridge the gap between the premium brands, (BMW, MB, Audi, Etc) then it needs to offer a bit more power. As it is now, handling is superb for what the vehicle is, on par with the ultimate driving machines of BMW but it just doesn't have the same power. I'd really like to see Mazda become the smart persons BWM!
Well they do have an agreement with Toyota to get hybrid technology+1
I think a 2LT petrol is possible along with an hybrid.
Hybrid or full electric is the future.
Tesla shares have gone sky high despite not being profitable.
I don't think Mazda will change anything at all for '18. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is a possibility but that's about all I would expect.
BTW so would it be correct to assume '18 models will start hitting dealerships around August/September?
