Is ther any special needs for my new CF hood? sUCH AS cleaning w/ special soap. Is buffing/waxing ok? What is a gel coat? And would you recomend a clear coat?
Thanks,
Ryan

I was told that the day you get it, you should put a very generous coat of wax on it in order to protect it...Also, try to avoid putting it in the direct sun constatly for long period of time..that can age them as well...you don't have tobe a psycho about it,. just like try to park it in the shade if you can or put it in your garage when your at home..even a car cover would work for those nongarage owners

Hmm, I've known people who've had CF hoods for a couple of years now and their hood still looks fine. I think that if you get a high quality hood, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. bad hoods tend to fade and it is a horrible sight. But all of the companies that make hoods for Proteges (Wings West, DG, Fiber Images) have pretty good quality so we're safe.
