Car smoking, so wat now?

So my car has been smoking for a couple weeks now and as soon as i saw it, i knew wat it was and was worried that I was right. Well a couple days ago my friend and I were installing a boost gauge in my car and he took the TMIC off so he could get to the vacuum line easier. well of course, there was plenty of oil in my throttle body. Also, with my new boost gauge installed, i took it to full boost and it only read that it peaked at 10 psi, which i am assuming is cause of the bad seals as well. So, it seems my turbo seals are shot... so now wat? im over warranty of course so should i try and get it rebuilt? But wat i was thinking was just upgrading the turbo now, since i was thinking about doing that in the future anyways. I have been looking at the ATP GT Turbo upgrade on protegegarage.com and thinkin about boltin the GT3071r that comes with it. That would solve my problem along with giving some nice power in the meantime. ;) Now the problem with that is, its $2,300, which is $2,300 too much at the time. It will take me a couple months to save this up, so are there any other options that would be better? Also would I be ok waiting until then?

thx guys. would love some feedback on these ideas and ne experience ppl have had with the gt3071r turbo

Check out protege garage, they have some rebuilt k04's. They have a couple different options I think. You can send yours in and get a credit or have them use a new one. Worth a shot, check it out.

and with these cars u cant just bolt a bigger turbo on if u want your car to run. u have to get a tunning unit. most likely the cp-e stand back for such a large turbo. u have to do other mods too to get it running right. so try close to 4000 to run that turbo. get the protege garage rebuilt ko4. adds a little horse power but spools til 6500rpm and is very strong

Just a question on that... You don't have to get all the other mods to do the KO4 swap do you? That's what I'm thinking about doing in the near future...

from what ive read no u dont. just bolt it right in

thats wat i was mainly concerned about is whether or not it needed a tune or piggyback of somesort. I will definitley look at that turbo rebuild. seems pretty cheap instead of a completeley new turbo wit a standback or piggy back system
