Hi everybody!

I just took off the Intake Manifold to add spacers and now when I start the car, it instantly revvs and stays at 5000 rpms! (eek2)

This is exactly what I did:

I took the IM out to add Manifold and TB spacers.
I installed an Oil Pressure Sender for an aftermarket gauge.
I changed the oil cooler coolant hose, drained some coolant but refilled it.
Did the accessory belts
Changed oil.

What could it be? I noticed that when it revved to 5k, the boost gauge stayed at -21 PSI, exactly where its supposed to be so I'm thinking its not vacuum related? Please help, this car is my DD and I need it tomorrow!

Thanks in advance! :)

That was my first guess too. I disconnected the cable and reattached it after making sure that it was out of the way of everything. I even had my neighbor depress the pedal inside while I watched for any sticking, the throttle moved just fine. Btw could a bad TPS cause this issue? Is there any other way ensure that my cable is ok other then what I've done so far? And would a vac leak anywhere cause this?

Btw, let me know if you guys need any pics of my engine, I'd be happy to snap a few.

The cable has to be extended with the throttle body spacer. There is a way to do it just don't remember how I did it at the moment.

I agree. The cable needs to be adjusted. And I also forgot how to do it. Just having the throttle plate open a millimeter will cause a high idle.

Aahhhhhhh of course! I thought about it after I actually had some dinner lol, guess the protein helped my brain work. :P

I'll look into that in the morning, hopefully that does the trick.

there is a white clip on the throttle cable by the tb, you push one way on the clip to unlock it and adjust the cable accordingly, then re snap the clip and you're set.

Well, you guys were right. After adjusting the throttle cable, she's purring like a kitten again!

Thanks everybody for the replies! :D
