Car Broke Down

So tonight i'm driving down the highway on my way out of town when all of the sudden my car stalls. No warning lights or anything. I make my way to an off-ramp without too much trouble and go to the side of the road. Try to start the car and nothing. Its turning over, but its not even attempting to fire.

I did a visual inspection and but didn't see anything obvious. The last work I did on my car was about 2500 miles ago, which was putting my intercooler on. Havent had any problems with it until tonight.

Any ideas where to start looking in the morning when I have some light?

check your intercooler pipes, Check the MAF and its connections including the intake pipes adjasent to it first. Then check the connections on the coilpacks and fuses.

That didn't even cross my mind. I will check in the morning.

I have a feeling its getting fuel, but I think i'm not getting any spark for some reason.

I'm guessing I should start with the fuse box under the hood?

that happened to me once when i was driving, car just shut off, no electrical system no nothing. got it towed to a dealership. they said a wire got pinched and blew a fuse. so yea, fuses!

I checked the pipes and most major connections. If there was a hose that came off, it should still start through. Just run like crap right?

Not if its after the MAF twards the turbo and intake mani. It will not start at all.

under the hood in the fuse box. their are a bunch of big ass fuses, relay's (sorry i forget). anyway one of them is for the ecu. make sure it is not loose. mine became loose after hitting a big ass bump and the car just died, would turn over but not start. had it towed to a reapir shop. they replaced the fuel pump and then said it was fixed. so i drove for like 4 hours and the car dies again. same friggen thing. this time i had it towed to my house and found the problem. the fuse, relay(whatever it is) would slightly reseat itself over the night and start the next day for a few hours then vibrate lose again.

so check and make sure everything in their is tight

It won't start if the intercooler or throttle body pipe is disconnected. I had that happen once and got towed home only to find the lower pipe became disconnected. Prior to that I took off from a light and it just died.

Well I took a look at the fuses, and didn't see any that appear to be blown. However, I didn't try to reseat all of the relays.

If that doesn't work, I guess i have to pull off the front and check all of the pipes for the intercooler. From what I see, all of them in the engine bay are fine.

thus another benefit to relocating the maf. if you blow a turbo pipe you can still drive..... i have had it happen a few time b4 i had the pipes ends bulged out.

ok i am done

I checked all of the relays last night, and reseated all of them, but that didn't seem to do much.

One thing that I noticed was that when i try to start the car, for some reason, the temp guage goes all of the way to H. I'm not exactly sure what that is trying to tell me. Seeing this leads me to believe that its electrical rather than a clamp that came off one of the pipes.

My next step is to pull out the unichip, which I have had in their for about 10k miles. Possibly one of the wires got pinched and grounded out because of the lack of room under the kick panel?

This is exactly what happened to me and it was the ECU fuse near the foot rest.

Unless i'm missing something, I have checked every fuse in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side, along with every fuse by the kick panel on the drivers side.

None of which appear to be blown.

I wish it was just a fuse.

it also happens when the fuel pump fuse pops. dunno what it could be if you checked them already.
