Can't remove these water spots . . . dangerous in the rain

I parked my car next to some sprinklers that came on every night for a year. Anyway half of the car and the windshield is basically covered in water spots. It is so bad that when I was drying it off with a shammie after a wash . . . the same amount of water would be left after wiping.

When the car is dry you can't tell but the main issue is driving in the rain. The wipers can't remove the water and the windshield gets very blurry. I have 20/20 vision and it has really made me uncomfortable lately.

I tried windex and some other glass cleaners but the spots are engrained in the glass.

Any help appreciated.

Yeah, I've actually tried waxing the glass and other techniques.. You'll find something to fix it.. And yeah, might be more help in a tech section..

Try cleaning it with a 0000 extra fine piece of steel wool with the cleaning agent of your choice. If that doesn't work than buffing it out will solve the issue. Reclaimed water sucks, its the dried stains sitting on the glass. Definitely fixable. If not just throw a rock through the windshield and take advantage of our states no deductible statute on windshields when you have comprehensive on a personal auto. Just kidding about the fraud part.

Thanks guys I will give those methods a shot. I have tried clay bar but it didn't do anything.

Sorry about posting in the wrong section.

Had the exact same issue with my car.

Buffed the spots off of the body with compound/polish. Then, I tried everything on the glass, and nothing worked. Some methods would make it look good, but once the sun hit it, all of the spots were still there. It sucks, but a phone call to the insurance agent solved it. The new windshield cured all of it.

Not sure if that helps you...but, that's what glass coverage did for me.

Moved to appearance section (couldn't figure out a better spot)

Had the same issue and my wife came up with some home remedy, vinegar mixed with water. I was uncomfortable with it at first but it did the trick and works wonders. I've done it three times now, but I wash the car right after that.

I've used Barkeeper's Friend mixed with some water (as a paste) to remove water spots on glass. Nothing else would take them off, but this worked great. Wiped with the paste, then rinsed off with water. This stuff is relatively cheap and I found it in a local Kroger.

I will try the barkeepers friends (always have that at my place) and the vinegar as well. Hopefully those will work. I tried scrubbing them with a rough dish sponge to no avail.
