Canon 5D Mark II test video - Mazdaspeed 3

looks good, really like the front shot of the headlight how it goes from light to dark and then light again, pretty cool.

Thanks guys. I need to get some actual driving footage to add to the video.

As for the light to dark headlight shot, I actually spun the circular polarizer to get that effect. I liked it too. :)

BAD. ASS.

I've been fiending after the 5d mk1 for a while. (well, first it was nikon d200/300) til i learned about the benefits of full frame sensors. When nikons d90 came out, (also shooting HD video) I was scheming about how to justify buying one. . .

Then i learned about the 5d mk2. I must say, I'm impressed with your video results with it. Much more then the sample clips i've seen on other review sites. How many clips did you stitch together for that? Given X amount of memory card, how long are the clips you can shoot?

I'm not overly invested in either canon or nikon, and I know it's sort of an eternal debate. . .

Color me green with envy. :) Good for you!

PS. great portfolio pics. mind if I ask what you use for postproduction? imagine it's Photoshop. . .seeing as it's the big one... Aperture?

Hey Jason,

I think that was about 8 clips stitched together. As for your questions regarding the camera. I believe the camera limits you to 4GB/12 min clips. I believe it's 24min if you don't shoot HD. As for the D90, make sure you do some research. I've heard some bad things about it's video mode.

That's what I was gonna say about the CP. haha..Looks good. Can you change shutter and aperture on the fly while filming?

Unfortunately not. Video mode is fully automatic. However, there are work arounds that let you manually set your aperture and ISO. And exposure compensation and exposure lock come in handy as well.

what kind of camera do you have?

I have a sony handycam and i never looked in messing that stuff, just wondering if you i could mess with that stuff at all. I doubt i can but just wondering.

? Canon 5D Mark II

You should mess around with it. It's kinda fun. Time consuming, but fun.

I really love your automotive work man. LOL if you learnt some videography, you'd be an arsenal of sorts LOL

Sweet! Excellent job my friend. I can see where you got your inspiration for all of the pans, zooms, focusing, etc. I've been meaning to produce a video like this for quite sometime. What program do you edit with?

Thanks. I used Adobe Premiere Elements 7. I haven't even scratched the surface of that software though.
