Canadian-spec Mazda3 review

The pics seem to be pre-production Canadian-spec. I've emailed the guy that did the review for more details/info about the car.

there's something about it that just doesn't do it for me like when I seen the P5 at first.

1st time I seen the p5, I was like...damn, that's cool.....and I test drove one right away.

I just don't care about the M3 hatch.....yet. Maybe because it resembles a few other cars, whereas the p5 was so unique.

Got to see on in person before I decide.

I don't know why no one likes it. It is probably because you guys are stuck with your P5s and the new Mz3 is so much nicer. Given the P5 and Mz3, almost everyone would pick the Mz3 hands down. More power and more car.

The reason there are 2 Canadian-spec Mazda3's is that the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) is doing their Car of the Year test during Oct 29 - Nov 1 at Shannonville, ON. Other Mazda's included (though in seperate categories) are the Mazda6 and RX-8. The Mazda6 is a '04 in Canada, hence it didn't get tested last year. Wouldn't it be cool if each of the three Mazda's won their own individual categories and then compete against each other for overall Car of the year?

The Mazda3 was in Sport car under $35,000 and economy categories.

You are mistaken. The 2.3L Engine is designed and made by Mazda. The transmission is made by Mazda as well.

I feel in NO WAY stuck with the MP5. I think it looks 10 times better (mind you I have not seen an Mz3 in person), and I wouldnt trade mine in for an Mz3 at all. I would probably move on to another car all together.

I really like the looks of the sedan. Will be interesting to see a MazdaSpeed version of it.
