does anyone know how to turn up the idle of a P5. I just placed a new engine (same engine just new) with headers and a Injen CAI... only problem is that it idles very low to the point it almost shuts off (hasnt yet but I have a feelin it could). Im not much of a mechanic, so please be specific if you got the know how. Thanks!

Yes, there is a small screw, (hex I believe) that you can turn that is on the throttle body butterfly to adjust the idle. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's at the back of the engine bay, if you follow the air intake back to where the throttle bady is you should see it. I would check to make sure you don't have a vacum leak first though, those will cause low idle.
Do not touch the screw with the hex nut at the butterfly. That is not to be adjusted. On the right side of the throttle body near the front, theres a recessed hole that contains a philips head screw. You will need to turn that screw counter clockwise to up the idle. But first, you will need to jump TEN and GND in the little diagnostic box in the upper right hand corner of the engine bay. Warm up the car to normal operating temperature, while car is running jump TEN and GND, then turn the recessed screw til you reach the rpm you want

I suggest not adjusting either. Youll never get it back to normal. Youre low idle is possibly a vac leak around the intake mani or throttle body. Or do a seach on egr valve cleaning. Running some seafoam through the intake via pcv will help pinpoint a leak if its present.
well im missing a sensor from my AC pump, and I ripped out a wire on my trans switch (only name Mazda could come up with) which disabled my gauges and turn signals.... so maybe this could be toying with me. I got pics here http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123771226

Track down a vac leak...maybe run some seafoam through the intake via pcv
I picked up some seafoam yesterday, but can't seem to find the DIY on how to use it on this car. I normally would do 1/2 into the engine oil, 1/2 into the fuel tank. However, from reading around it sounds like the vac line is the way to go, but I can't find it under the "How To" section (tried search already).
Anybody have the link? Thanks in advance!

Shouldn't need to adjust your idle via this route unless you have seriously modified your engine internals and have thus affected your idle considerably.
Listen to Shane, and find your idle problem and fix the real issue.
Clean your EGR valve, IAC valve, clean your air filter and check for vac leaks. Then check your spark plugs, ignition coils & wires.
