Can anybody tell me what exactly happens at 4k rpm with the engine in the MSP?

Paul,
I've read bad reviews of the CM clutches with other cars...

Fatdaddy,
Give it another try at a different dealership. And run a dedicated line to your wastegate actuater as well. See if that helps.

Yeah, in the first gen world, I've never heard anything good about the centerforce clutch. Most people are happy with their ACTs, though. :)

Only problem is, there isn't another Mazda dealer anywhere remotely close to here. I just saw some info on the wastegate deal yesterday for the first time. I'll have to research that a little more. Thanks.

I had a centerforce on my 88 MX-6 turbo and it held up fine(for the 3 months I had it)

I got a problem like that but dont have power loss. I have two problems like that..

1: When i floor the gas and it starts to come up to boost and then let off the gas the engine bucks bad and the harder you floor it and the high you let the boost go the the bucking gets worse.
2: lets say i got the car in fourth gear and going about 40 mph and i floor it when it hits full boost the engine starts to buck and and starts to stumble and then the car will just take off.

All i have done is a CAI, Cat less down pipe and the ECUs flashed. And this will happen at any boost setting. And the car is flashed. I noticed a big power gain in the lower RPMs after the flash. Also to note the car had the same problems before and after the flash.

I should probably do a search, but does anyone have pics showing this "dedicated line" ran to the wastegate actuator?

I had a problem with my VICS, or VITS...whatever its called. The dealer thinks it was throwing the cel I was having. They found one of the check valves w/ the VICS was blocked by a particle and causing it to stay open when it was supposed to close. I don't know if it affected boost or not...but the cel hasn't come back since they replaced that check valve.

I'll take a pic this afternoon and post it this evening. Basically you're taking out the tee'd line that runs from the intake manifold to the wastegate & BPV, and replacing that line with a single line from the manifold to the wasteagate.

Then tee off another line for your BPV.

SOSPEED,

Run a dedicated line to your wastegate actuater and all your bucking should go away!

I have to check but i think my EBC is hooked up to the wastegate.

Yeah, any boost controller is going to be installed on the wastegate line (it has to for it to work). You could still run a dedicated line for the wastegate & boost controller though...the whole point is to get the BPV line off the wastegate line.
