driver did 12.8 or something with couple boltons he destroyed viper on the next lane hahah on youtube is vid ...somewhere

Yeah, Driver311, I saw his thread and videos (and all the drama). He had a MBC and was running, I think, 18 psi. I'm still at stock boost. One of the comments in that thread was something about a MS3 with a CAI and drag tires could get into the 12s. I'm pretty certain it can, though I can't powershift 2-3 consistently without the motor mount upgrade.

I think something he proved was how important sticky tires are on these cars at the strip. I'm an old school drag racer, so I'm a firm believer in traction!

if someone can find driver311 video of him beating a viper I'd love to see that!

But if he had an MBC he wouldnt be running stock boost then I guess.

for the OP, great video!

I highly doubt it...but will you be doing any type of weight reduction?

but it would not shock me this car has some potentional with a good driver and the right mods. heck we got a stock turbo sti in the low 11s

Just the rear tires/wheels since those anvils on my car weigh 55 lbs each. I'll borrow some stockers to keep it honest. I really didn't expect the 13.1 or 13.0, 107 mph passes or I would've been better prepared. I wasn't even putting any heat in the tires on those two good passes so I'm actually fairly confident, given the mph, that the car will go lower 12.90s maybe even squeak into the 12.80s.

He doesn't beat it. It's a bracket race, the Viper gets the win light and runs an 11.90. Still a 12.80 pass in a car with minimal mods (cut air box, test pipe, 18 psi, good tires).

For what it's worth, I won two passes against a C5 Z06 one night at ORP, but that was a driver's deal. Hard to really claim a MS3 is faster than a Z06. ;)

I plan on being in the 12s with bolt ons on street tires and stock boost... I think it's very possible with the right driver... maybe I am he.

confident are we(shady) I wish you the best of luck. I too wish I can reach 12s but for having never dragged before at the strips at least, i doubt that will ever happen :( I hit 12s in my 300ZX TT back when I used to street race tho, but thats with those old skool G-tech pro :) anyone remember those bad boys?

hey all I've got is an intake and a top mount intercooler and I'm at a 13.5

I think 12s aren't THAT far away... besides, I haven't hit a perfect run on my setup yet... I'm thinking that my car, as is, is capable of at least a 13.4, maybe 13.3 I know I feel more potential off of the line than I am getting so far.

wow these are some great times given the mods. best mod is probably the driver mod.... there are people with a good amount more mods getting slower times.

good luck w/ breaking 13

I'm interested in what mine would run at the track, I've never drag raced on a track before, I went for the cheaper Escort G-timer myself in my old integra but then I was just trying to break out of the 15s haha.

I think with the proper conditions and driver a lightly modded ms3 could do it.

all of those obdII and g-force things are bunk. it only matters what you run at an official track. I should run with my dashhawk and post how different the "times" are.

they sure don't hurt for practice though!

dude those g-techs were badass back in the day, but they could be within 1 second up or down from what it was in actuality, so deifinately the track is more reliable. I woder how a DH compares to the g-tech tho, if it's more accurate. Still, I too rememver trying to break into 14s with my nitrous powered cavalier, and then inot 12s with my 300ZX TT using that pos g-tech

What are you running for wheels and drag radials? (Size and type)

..and what was your 60'?

The dashhawk goes by the vehicle sensors though so some people have found reliability issues when using it for performance tests, the g-tech and g-timer used gyros and force so I'd say they are a little more accurate than the dashhawk but still wouldnt use those numbers. I havent used my dash hawk for performance tests yet...
