camber kit

For those of us with American drop kits, that's .87-2.17 inches. :D

I just got the Mazdaspring\camber link kit ( haven't put them in yet ) but I've heard the links are a b**** to put in. is that correct?

The left one is easy but the carbon canister is in the way of the inner bolt on the right one. It's not impossible but it's not easy.

Just remember to have the weight on the suspension before you torque the bolts. That neutralizes the bushings.

Just got the links installed for $60 and alignment for $50. Links cost me $210. Two new tires were $342. $662 later I'm at -2 even on both sides. No rubbing with passengers in the back but I can not get my fingers in between the tire and fender. I would guess at 0 I would be up against the fender so whenever SPC gets the adjustable kit out I will be rolling my fenders.

A special thanks to Corksport for getting those links to me in less than 24hrs.

-2 is better than -4. And for all you Prokit guys out there you will probaby get pretty close to 0 with the Mazdaspeed links. I'm gonna guess between 0 and -.5

good to hear. can you get any close up pictures of the gap in the rear now? I just want to compare it to mine

A local Albany shop did the alignment. Their rack is flat to drive up on. It's a pit type setup. Schawb's is a pretty steep ramp that I don't think I could get my car up.

So do you think it would be a good idea to get the Mazdaspeed ones in my situation? Or should I wait? I have had these tires on for about 3k miles. Maybe I should get the mazdaspeed ones installed asap and just switch the front and rear tires here soon

Sorry for the dirt. Let me know if you can ascertain anything from these photos. You can kind of use the valve stem cap as a comparative...

nice, so you say you are at -2 now? Cuz I really think I am an incredibly severe case. I would not be surprised if it was worse than -6. That is one of the first things people tell me when they see my car is how bad my camber is (except they usually say "your tires lean a lot").

your tires look smaller than mine but your sig says they are 225/40r18....that still true? I know you said you got new tires

Yep...got the same exact tires to replace the shredded ones. 225/40ZR18

How wide are your wheels? What's the offset. Both these values can make the same size tire appear differently in reference to the fender gap.

thats true. I have 18x7.5 wheels and 47 offset
I've got 18x8 with a +50mm offset. Another .5" to stretch the same size tire across. My +50mm offset actually gives me an advantage on the tuck factor.

I think the .5 is making the tires look smaller. mine look a lot more squared off than yours
