I just got through installing the JDM intake cam on my sedan. It did not require any air tools, only simple hand tools. Probably took me a total of 2 hours, I was helping my brother do something at the same time so it wasn't linear. I will say that if you are not used to working on your car then this isn't the sort of job you want to start with. You do have to make sure your camshaft and crankshaft timing marks are aligned, not a huge thing but something to watch. Otherwise it is just removing bolts and wires. Reading the factory manual helps as it goes into great detail on what you have to do.
Not sure about any change in mileage yet. As far as power goes, seat of the pants is a little softer off the bottom and a little stronger on top. The engine seems to pull better right to redline, where it was slightly wheezy before. Can't say for sure since I didn't do a dyno run, but I doubt I got 10 horses. It is nicer to rev it out though, especially in conjunction with the other mods I have done recently.
