Once again I am forced to ask what the obsession is with the "bigger" throttle bodies?? This is not a Honda!
I've said it before and I'll say it again here, they are not going to make a difference on this car. Eric Burmeister, SCCA Pro-Rally, tested the current stock throttle body. There are no gains to be had from a bigger throttle body. Not even doing stuff to the present throttle body yielded anything.
Nobody makes a throttle body, they are not needed.
Cam gears would be nice, however dealing the cam sensor on the exhuast side is a problem. Supposedly Tri-Point's cam gears are supposed to work because they are made from a non-ferrous metal, however CHDesign could not get them to work.
Sunbelt, the guys who build the motors for the Speed World Challenege Proteges, are supposed to have cams, cam gears and some other choice parts.
The cams that are available work well, they just need a little tuning to work right. Any other after-market camn would need similar tuning, so once again, cam gears would be nice.
The intake manifold from the FS-ZE is probably the best one there is for the Protege 2.0 liter right now. Corksport has it, as well as Mazdaspeed Motorsports. However I think Mazdaspeed stopped selling to the public, you now have to be a member.
I'm not trying to talk down this un-named company, but making parts that will actually make more power is what people want. A larger throttle body won't. Cam gears that won't throw a CEL, would be nice. Decent cams are out there...
I don't know, it will be nice to see companies making more parts for the third gen Protege, but making parts that will do something. Don't build the Protege market like the Honda market was built.
