This is my last ditch effort to find filler strips ... I'm desperate ! Can't you tell ?! :'(

If you have taken off the filler strips in order to install the roof rack rails and are interested in making a some money, I would very much like you to strip ... I mean, purchase your filler strips. :D

PM me ... Post here ... email me ... send me a postcard ... I don't care, just don't make me buy it from a dirty dealership! (rant)

Thanks! :)

Oops ... I apologize if this thread is in the wrong section. I'm at work, so it was put up hastily before the boss could walk by, see me, and do this: (nuts)

Yeah, i know ... but as I said in my original post, I don't want to. My dealership is charging me $69, plus tax and shipping&handling. :(

It's $69 for each FILLER STRIP, slapping me with grand total of $138 + tax + shipping and handling

If I were to remove the entire roof rack system (crossbars and rails), I would need to fill in the grooves left behind with moulding. If I bought these "filler strips" from the dealership, it would cost the above price ...

However, Canada's P5 comes with the roof rack system as an option. Some owners have opted to put on the roof rack later on, in which case, they'd have to remove the filler strips in order to do so. I want to buy these filler strips from someone who did just that. No one's biting though :(

ok you dont mean the 4 little filler strips the canadian version has that are about a half an inch by 3 inches. You mean the entire strip that runs from front to back right??

READ HIS POST!!!!

Andrew,

why is dealer charing your shipping and handling? You can't go to a stealership to pick them up or something?

Maybe someone in Canada can find a junk yard and take the strips for you :-)

It would be cool if we could organize trades like they did for the headlights and ECU's between the P5's and other cars. Do you think we could get enough people interested? This is a swap that the car to be legally operational while the pieces are off. I want these pieces too, but not for the dealership prices.

If we put the roof rack on our canadian P5's we don't remove the filler strips. We have 4 little pieces of plastic we remove and then we bolt on the rack, leaving the filler strips in place.
The american style rack in which the strips are removed is not available here.
