Calling Down Pipe Owners!!

I'm not planning on ordering either (DP/MP) till after the new year, so it looks like I'm gonna have to hit up BEGi to see what the word is. Maybe contact StephanieT and work that Colleyville connection.

Thats where I got my info from... hehehehe...

I have a question for all you turbo back owners. i just installed a cpe downpipe to go along with my cpe catback. well after driving it the car vibrates like hell upon exceleration. It didn't do this withjust the cat back...

i just wanted to know how many of you have experienced this with your car. Just to let you know for those that don't have i have speed6.

Just got a reply from CP-E:

Its a shame that the catted version of CP-E's DP is $737.00!!! I would have bought this now...but $737 for a DP is too rich for my blood.

I guess I'll be going Cork Sport with factory 2nd cat...until someone offers a high flow 2nd cat...

Where did you get that price? http://www.therpmstore.com/ has CPE 3-inch down-pipe w/ high flow cat for $684.95 before shipping. Still not cheap, just making sure if you are going to get one you don't pay too much.

They have dyno charts (with full CPE tbe installed) on their site.

Hey, thats the cheapest I've seen it...and thats including free shipping!!! WAHOO!!!
The only places I've seen it are on SU and CP-E websites...

THANKS!!!!

I'm still wanting to wait for BEGi's downpipe though... I'm hoping it will be divorced gases and high-flow catted...

I just emailed Stephanie, hoping for a response soon.

Just got a responce... Seems like the BEGi DP will be fabricated in February/March time frame... So, I don't expect this to be out no sooner than mid to later 2008...

Here is the scoop:
Gerald,
We will start working/building it in February or March. Sooner if shop space is available. Probably will be released after we install a second one in house.

We will probably offer the off road pipe w/ no cat. Then we will also offer one with a metallic core cat. The metallic core cat is more expensive, but serves as a good compromise between the environment and power. J

We will most likely build a divorced gases pipe, but no guarantees.

Hope that helps,
Stephanie

I'm just going to order the CP-E... Like I said, I love the CS design, but I don't want my new car smelling like unburnt gas 3-4 months later...many non-catted folks have been complaining about this issue and installing cats (according to the folks at CP-E).

Seems like I'll be giving PG a call... :)

Edited 1:45pm EST:
Called PG and ordered the CP-E catted downpipe!!!! Awesome price actually!!!! Cheaper than the rpm store!!!! Shipping included!!!!
I love PG!!!!!!!(cabpatch)(eekdance)

man the smell of unburnt raw fuel out the tailpipe is the greatest smell out there...

Not for a daily driver... LOL

Seems like the MS3 is absorbing the gas odor...including the interior...
Not cool when you are all dressed up to go out to a formal dinner...

So how well do you think your decision was to go for the CPE vs wait for catted mid pipe?

Is the smell that bad? I have a corksport pipe sitting here that I havent put on yet.

I still like it!!!! My exhaust is not harsh or pungent!! I can let the car idle in the garage (with door open) and I will not pass out from the fumes. My old car (with straight/race pipe) was BAD!!!

I'm very happy with it!!! (2thumbs)
