Hi all! I will be picking up my new addition next weekend(I hope) It is a '95 M-edition with 61,000 miles. Very nice condition, well maintained, and a very nice seller. Already have an '02 Protege5, so this will make a nice addition to the family. I fear I might be turning into a mazdaholic(drive2)
that color combo is the prettiest evar. Except LavaSpeed... Oh, my faded red is pretty cool too. but other than that :)

never had performance tires on any of my cars, makes a world of diff, theres nothing better than a curvy ROAd to make u smile! what kind of mileage do u get with ur modded miatas!? we were in CO with our miatas i got 36 and my dad got 37 thats awesome for a miata, average i get 27 and thats prolly doing 100 mph atleast once, it just sounds sooo good, and it begs for more, the exhaust sounds very nice, she likes to run 80 alot ;)
(could be my lead foot)maybe if it wasnt a miata

I ran my msm at the 1/4 mile the other night, my mods are listed in my sig. I managed a best of 13.9 @99 mph, hitting boost related fuel cut in 5th every run. I need a xede bad, I'm guessing mid 13's are possible once I get this thing tuned.

Yea, get yourself an Xede. Running 13.9 is pretty nice considering your mods are pretty basic. (Not really, but you have no management)

Question. Says you are running 10psi, are you hitting fuel cut with 10psi?

Yeah, I hit it all the time in the higher gears. Close to the end of each 1/4 mile run I hit the fuel cut, I just keep my foot down and drive through it. I'm sure that's hurting my time somewhat, too.

Hrm. You need management ASAP. I can't believe you are hitting it at 10 though. *MOST* people *cough cough* hit it at 11psi but I hit mine right at 15psi. Some people have the problem, some don't.

Well, my car runs 10 psi normally. That is until 5k rpms when it goes into "vtec" lol and goes up to 11-12. That's when it hits the fuel cut. I've seen you have the begi downpipe on the msm forum. How do you like it? It looks like a royal pita to install but it sure does look nice.

Haha, oh man. Did you read all my big mess over there? I'm banned from those forums now, total fun.

Anywho, the DP is a bia to install but with small hands and tons of patience you can manage. I noticed a major difference in my car. Worth the money.

I can think of a few times where a pair of small hands would have been helpful while working on the Miata. Currently, I have a loose bolt on my WG actutor that I cannot access due to the tight areas (and I don't care to remove several parts including coolant lines). I can get the wrench on it with no problem, but I have no mobility to move it.

Ah yes, the Miata is one hell of a car to work on.
I've been known to throw a tool or two because of frustration.

I removed a TON of stuff when putting the DP on that didn't even have to be taken off but it made the installation easier.

I must say, I disagree. I have been working on a couple of other cars, for example my GFs Volkswagen and my Beater car (Nissan 200sx). Compared to any of those, the Miata is so easy to work on. It is as if it was built to be modified.

I've never worked on a 200sx or a Volkswagen, so I can't decide that. Either way, the Miata is a task to work on depending on which parts you are dealing with. For example, the downpipe as we were talking about. It wasn't the easiest thing to get to, nor was it a pleasure to work on. It's a tight fit and only so many places you could turn a wrench.

I love working on the Miata, no doubt. It's a challenge in some areas and I like a challenge. ;p

It also all depends on experience (I would like to believe). A person who has worked on cars for a while may find it easier than others. If you are like me and have only worked on P5s, MSPs, and Miatas, it's a different story. Even BEGi found the DP a hard place to play around in. They've worked on their fair share of Miatas. All hail Corky Bell. ;)

Maybe I have been lucky and hit the easy parts on the Miata so far. I especially like the roomy engine bay. My Miata probably helps out as good as she can when she feels her owners clumsy fingers screwing up yet another already from factory well engineers area of her. I did install my headers myself and didn’t find it to be that bad, but then of course, I don’t have a turbo to complicate things… but ooh how I would like to have one. I have some serious boost envy right now…
