CAI How-to

help!

so i'm in the middle of installing the thing (thank god for wireless lans:) and i'm wondering what this rubber damper looking thing w/ the double sided thread deal is. or should i say "doohickie"?

can i get a wha-wha?

thanks

better yet- since i just got off my graveyard shift and am feeling more braindead than usual, if anyone wants to help a noob brother out over the phone PM me with your number (no canadians, please, my work won't take kindly to that).

don't expect any phonesex, tho

here is what I did with the vacuum line holder..

I popped the bracket out of the OEM rubber intake and unbolted the bracket. Re-bolted it back on at a different angle so I could pinch the 90-bracket between the two bolts. I also went to Lowes and picked up a foot or so of 1/2" plastic hose and sliced it all around so I could use it as a buffer so the metal intake doesnt bump my inner panel. It's pretty thick stuff and you can chose between clear, white or black hose? It's the beverage line I believe? Shrugg, it was only ~$1/ft.

Hope this helps.

PS yeah, my engine is dirty. That's what living with snow/salt does for us here in good 'ole Ohio. :(

ok. i think i figured this out...that rubber w/ the threads coming out from each end is to mount the "down" pipe into the wheel well. right?

" 2. The screw thing with a big rubber thing on it is what mounts the CAI to the car near where it goes into the hole." = the doohickie.

duh

done! little over 2 hours including a trip to osh for a new ratchet. not bad for a complete novice...now i'm going to drive and hope nothing breaks:)
