I originally had the bomz ebay intake
and then got a deal on an used injen, so I tried it just for s**** and giggles.
The sound of the ebay SRI was much better IMO. In gears 2-4 at WOT the sound was an insane warbling growl.
The injen has more of a performance import sound to it. I wouldn't call it rice though.
Another "Sound" I noticed was going from idle (750rpm) and mashing the gas, you get a pop/slurp sound from the intake. The ebay intake only did this somewhat in neutral and in first. I could manage to get the sound from the injen in all gears. I assume this means better airflow? I don't really know. You also catch a glimpse of this when the AC/vent kicks on at idle. When that happens it sounds more like popping a pringles lid off an empty can.
The ebay intake had no noticable affect on the butt dyno, while the injen did manage to pull a tiny bit harder.
Looks? Injen wins. Although, I did like the filter being visible in the engine bay. Just the blue connectors and murky clamps with the ebay intake didn't go well with the neon yellow
As far as the mounting goes, the injen is definetly better. I guess your $150-200 additional buys you a nice welded on mounting bracket. REMILLERS can tell you about his mounting trouble with his ebay intake (garbage ties)
Go for the ebay intake if sound is all you want.
