Broken moon roof switch (2014 CX-5)

My moon roof switch literally broke off last night in my 2014 CX5. Does anyone know if I can replace just the switch or if I have to replace the whole overhead console with lights etc. Also, do you know if this is something a general mechanic could do, or do I have to take it to auto electrician? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the switch, but the console is reasonably easy to access. There are a couple of screws in the eyeglass storage you can remove.

I see someone selling separately but unsure if they harvested from salvage parts

Thanks. I did watch a video on how to replace the console and it looked pretty straightforward. I'm considering trying to do it myself if I replace the whole console.

This is a common failure (I just did one in my 2015 CX-5 GT). I've been looking and looking and found zero replacement switches (new ones). I have figured out that these are all KD45-69971 with minor differences.
If anyone does find a source for those switches (there are no assembly numbers on it), please post it! The best price I found on a new console was $127!

I ended up buying a whole console on eBay. The first one got lost in transit so I got a credit and ordered another one. Then the first one arrived later and they didn't want it back so I have an extra console that I would be happy to send you for free. Maybe you could cover the cost of shipping. Are you interested?

Thank you for the fast reply and offer! I bought both a new part and a console from a CX-9 in a junkyard. So, I am good with a used backup. Now to find out where we can get those dang switches and what that "block" is that I had to transfer to the new consold

I'd be interested in that console (if I'm reading it correctly that @Mrmattdat passed on it) and happy to pay the shipping to Ohio 👍

Yup. No need for a 3rd one. Any idea what this "block" does?
I FINALLY figured it out. The black block is the microphone used for hands free phone use (so, for those of you that did not transfer it, now you know).
Now, I am wondering if the black connector in the upper left of this photo is where the rear view mirror with Homelink would plug in.
Any thoughts?

Made some headway on Mazda's overhead consoles. The "unknown" black module is apparently the microphone used for hand's free telephone.
Now, I would like to define the open connector in the middle of the circuit board. My guess is that this is used in models that have the Homelink Rear View Mirror (mine does not...yet!).
Any thoughts?

Mine is a 2014 NA car (for comparison), but it doesn't have that connector. I *DO* have the homelink/dimming mirror though, and that is wired separately, so I doubt your connector is that.
