broke rear left axle shaft

:
Mazdaspeed6
my mazda dealership D. Dahle Mazda of Murray has denied warranty on my car.

long story short: i hit a rock about 10,000 miles ago, it cracked my oil pan and ripped my front bumpers lip off. the rock went down the passenger side of the car, and exited out the back of the vehicle without hurting anything else luckily. i immediately had the car checked by a collision shop, and they said that the drivetrain was untouched except for the oil pan.

mazda says that the rock traveled down the passenger side, and hit/got caught up in the axle. which caused the driver side axle to wear out its CV Joint....

hmm

**** mazda, ima burn the b**** down

Who paid for the original repair?? If it was your ins company than a claim (supplement) can be made to get them to pay for this repair as well....Ask the dealer to show you the impact damage that has cause the axle to break. If they can then your S.O.L. as its not a mfg defect. If they cant than they have to give you the benefit of the doubt and cover it under warranty.
Ask to meet with the factory rep to review your claim. Be firm but polite with the advisor/service mgr....

i talked to the service manager, she isn't a very pleasant women. she says that i can go down there and show her that the axle was not damaged or impacted in any way, and it wont change her mind.

no repair was needed, other than the oil pan. so i did that myself, since its like 8 or 10 easy bolts.

there is no proof..or logic for that matter, in any of their reasons to deny warranty.

arent you that genius that is always throwing up posts about how great an AWD drifter you are???

maybe the dealer you took it to is smart and they read up on these forums. You dont deserve the work to be done under warranty...you probably caused the damage and not a loose rock. haha!

Of course a collision shop told you that...it is the oldest trick in the book. People are already distrustful of dealers so a body shop just plays off of that and plays you. Then you feel like you got good work done by them because they were "truthful"" with you. That sucks and all dude and i hope you get your car fixed...but you dont deserve to have it done under warranty.

neither me nor the rock caused the damage, i'm very capable of accepting responsibility of something i have done.
ever since i had my rear end rebuilt, i haven't been drifting at all..so there (silly)

just go to a custom axle or driveshaft place theyll make u up a axle way cheaper then ur dealer will anyways

thats my plan for in the future, i don't have enough funds right now to buy all 4 upgraded axles. but thats what i'm gonna do after i get my clutch and standback on.

i told the dealership to go ahead and fix it, just because i need my car!

i just can't beleive they kept my car overnight for two days just to tell me they wouldn't warranty it..on another note they did service three recalls on my car. ECU reflash, a PCM reflash, and the shutter valve recall.

Hummm.... Did they give you a rental during those days?

People are willing to put up with a lot of bulls***...

I went to my dealer for the recalls... and my plan was to "hint" that I might have a broken axle and how they would deal with it...

I said I'd return when the parts for the recall were in.. and the service manager offered me a rental rather than driving my car away. ON TOP OF THAT... he said... "So, you want us to fix that broken axle while we're at it?"

You just have to find a quality dealership to work with... or at least a quality service manager. Some people just don't give a s*** about their job or how they treat people. And the dealerships who continue to employ people like that are 100% to blame.

crashkelly - Play nice.

ya, i think my problem was the service manager. ah well, i'll probably see worse things in life than having to pay out the ass for an axle :/

but yes they gave me a rental car, but now i don't know if i'm gonna get stuck with the bill since its not warranty. i know i'm not paying the first three days though, cuz up until today they were covering it under warranty. thats their bad

edit: oh ya and status: they are ordering a new axle at my expense, and shipping it express freight at my expense, and installing it at my expense :/. just because its already in there, and they can get the part faster than i can. but it kills me..cuz i could do it myself for cheap

i would too, but its not exactly drivable. its broke, not just worn out. its not good to drive on at all, it could hurt my differential. and like i said, i need my car asap.

This is one of the reasons why Mazda Corp. will never see another dollar of mine. I had a problem that the local dealer would not acknowledge - and therefore the corporate rep for my area would not even meet with me.

Just another happy customer I am!!

word. i've had nothing but problems with the dealerships, even the first time they fixed my diff it was difficult. cuz they were waiting for parts FOREVER, atleast they acknowledged it was faulty..that time.
